No, but when I hopped in last night my knee managed to hit the headlight dial and turn the lights on. I freaked cuz the lights came on and the dash lit up with "Lights on". All I could think is "oh great! My new JLU just went spazz on me". Took me a few seconds to realize what happened but it was tense for a moment.Anyone (other than me) push the radio button trying to start or stop their JL? At first I thought something was wrong with my Wrangler but the problem was between my ears. Getting old is rough.
I still try to take the key out of the ignition trying to turn it off.I haven't done that yet, but every now and then before starting I'll reach into my pocket to get the keys out.
Maybe it's a Mike thing?I constantly turn the fan control when trying to raise/lower the radio volume (you would think I'd use the volume control on the steering wheel).
I also hit the headlight switch when getting in.
I've had the JL for a month now, drive it near every day and still look for a key to remove.
Actually, there is an aftermarket offering that deals with the ESS. With the offering ESS is dealt with and no, no idiot light on the dash display either. The aftermarket hasn't figured a new switch (I assume the switch a relay) to remember its state (on or off) between startups--the factory setting being ESS always on/working upon startup?
I know there's under the hood ways of turning it off, but I've read that they generate false diagnostics in the dash.
References? Vendors?Actually, there is an aftermarket offering that deals with the ESS. With the offering ESS is dealt with and no, no idiot light on the dash display either.
