The worst is the frustration they are causing. Keeping my Jeep that I am still paying on and dealing with incompetent so called “trained technicians”. If it was out of warranty I would have already replaced the batteries and been on my way.

Yup! Sad thing is it’s across the board in all realms of business…lack of “trained technicians”. All the old guys and gals who used to know how to actually know how to trouble shoot and think out side the box to do repairs (days when we all could actually trust a stealership) are gone. Don’t get me wrong there are onesies and twosies still out there and I give credit to them folks but the majority now are all the folks who seemingly don’t give a •••• about your vehicle but rather come to work to simply collect a pay check. Lone gone are those days of pride and professionalism in workmanship/craftsmanship at dealerships. Now it’s just all about the almighty dollar. How to do more with less and another sad fact is it starts at the top with leadership and finds its way down to the folks we try and put our trust in who are turning wrenches on vehicles. Sorry for the rant I’ll get off my soap box now because it infuriates me how our country has come to this.

Does anyone know if Chrysler Jeep will ever do a recall on this problem? It isn’t that they are not aware of the issue.

Does this message stay on constant or upon start up for you? I get this message but it flashes and then goes away. It never stays on very long.

I doubt they will do a recall. If most of the cases are because batteries are going bad they can deflect the blame. Yes it is a Mopar labeled battery but I doubt they actually manufacture the battery. I’d have to research to verify. That is why most people just replace the batteries themself. Dealers are made to go through the FCA diagnostic steps and who knows if they are even doing it right.

Not going to happen, IMO. Typically it's batteries going, which is what batteries do. Especially in hot places - they die quick.

I recently put in a new aux battery about 5 days ago, and I still have the “battery charging” message. I’ve had this message for a year and not had any problem but decided to replace the battery and it did nothing for me.

Keep an eye on the main battery too if it's still the original. Odds are that one may be on borrowed time as well since it'd be the same age as the aux if it hasn't been replaced.

Mine has displayed the start/stop not ready battery charging message for 12 months. I just ignored it-don't care if it shuts off at a stop as I think its harder on the starter and motor than idling. However this past weekend I used the Jeep to jump start my sons car that had a dead battery. As soon as I got done the start/stop system read ready and for the past 3 days it has worked perfectly at every stop light. That tells me its just a software or sensor issue and has nothing to do with the actual batteries. My 2018 still has the stock batteries in it.

After 12 months my dealer ordered an IBS for my 2020 JL. This is the 4th time they have played with it. Charged or replaced the Aux battery 3 times and AS/S would work for a few days then quit. Search this site for post by Rhinebeck01 which I think is pertinent!
