OP never responded back so I am assuming they are OK. It probably was a door left ajar or battery ran down from not driving it much. Not a bad idea to install a higher capacity battery if possible.

2018 JLU Rubicon W/tow package has the larger battery tray from factory
I replaced my own battery.
Odyssey 94r- 850. Plug and play, size, terminals, cover.
So there are two or three battery trays?

I know I’ve seen 600 (2.0), 650(3.6 iirc), & 700cca (anything with towing?).

Cannot answer whether there are two or three. My simple mind assumed there were only two sizes. One standard and one that comes with towing option. In my case I can speak directly to you however, Rubicon with towing package accepts the larger battery I replaced it with. That's the extent of my knowledge on that sir.

one question tho, is the battery covered under the warranty. most place will not warranty batteries, beside that todays batteries will last about 3.5 to 4 years top.
if its an AGM battery I am getting 6-7 years without failure...

i had a die hard agm battery in my last jeep and expected it to last 6 or 7 years. it lasted 4 years. my mechanic knows what i got for a battery and told me that "today's" batteries are not like the batteries from the past. today's batteries only last to 4 years. i was going to look at some of the other batteries like optima, odyess, etc. but was told not to even bother.

It needs to be a pure lead AGM battery. Many AGM batteries are not pure lead, so they don't last any longer or maybe just a little longer than standard batteries. Go for an Odyssey or a Northstar. Even an Optima would be better.

One more thing....Unfortunately, right now, the only upgrade games in town for auxillary batteries are Interstate and Die-Hard. They are advertised as AGM batteries, but they are not pure lead AGM like the Odyssey, Northstar, or Optima large batteries are.

I just put the Die Hard in with a new Odyssey yesterday. I don´t use the ESS, so I´m hoping that the lack of stress will make it last a nice long time. My factory batteries were still good after about 3.3 years. But I wasn´t waiting around for them to fail while I´m on a remote trail somewhere.

I have been told the Odessey PC680MJ is an acceptable ess battery. I cannot verify that. Can anyone else?

dan. what size battery are you running for the odyssey. i would like to run a larger then stock with a higher cca. also looking at either odyssey or optima.

Group 48. It has slightly higher CCA than the OEM. But it will outperform it in every way by a wide margin in the real world. There certainly is more room to upsize on it, though.

Looking to replace mine as well! I have the bigger tray in my rubicon. How do you like the battery?

I got rid of the crappy factory-installed battery long ago and installed a much larger group 94 agm battery.

GROUP 94 fits perfectly in the factory JLU tray. I only had to remove a small (replaceable) plastic tab in the tray.
