Ha, my seats have none of that electrical fanciness. MTBF is real.
Fun fact - MTBF applies to mechanical devices too. Additionally, despite the fact that i've owned mostly power-seat-equipped vehicles over my life, the three times i've had seats get stuck, they were all non-power seats.

To the subject of the thread - Jeep and Dodge are just money fountains for Stellantis. This is not a company known for building great automobiles or caring in the least about the post-sale experience. They are in to harvest as much profit as they possibly can from the brand from as long as they can, that's it. So nothing will change as long as product keeps selling like crazy.

It`s not just the Hydro Blue, almost every color on the Ram is only $200 more. Why would something like the cold weather package cost so much more on a Wrangler. The steering wheel is close to the same in some Challenger and Chargers along with the heated seat elements, but in a Wrangler it is over $1100. and the same package in a Challenger or Charger os only $695 again we are getting ripped off for the exact same items. LED`s are another high dollar rip off
Because people pay for it.

I have been looking closely at replacements for my 2021 JLUR diesel for most of 2023, and even made an Excel sheet comparing prices. Though now the diesel is no longer offered. :swear:

The answer is very simple. They are pricing their product based on what they believe people will pay. If they are wrong or the market changes, they will reduce the price.

This is not a difficult concept. It plays out in the classified section of this very website every day. People list their items based in the maximum they think a buyer will pay (does that make them greedy or does that only apply to corporations?). If it sits for too long, they will reduce the price until the find a buyer.

Has anyone mentioned that the Ram sits on lots with about a year worth of inventory? You'd be nuts or order a Ram, there is one you want somewhere.

It’s all gone up exponentially cost wise and quality has taken a hit. Ordered a Rubi in 2017 for 38k that same thing roughly 5 years later cost 54k. I don’t see a 16k increase in value. Hell, I bought a sport S in 2015 which was basically a Willys and the same thing now is double the price.

Is a hustle. But we keep paying it. Jeep is the only solid axle off-road vehicle left
It’s not the vehicle, it’s the dollar.

It's both - the price increases are primarily inflation, but the Wrangler also started out overpriced and has increased more than the average vehicle. My Silverado LT Trail Boss is $6k more today than it was in 2021. My JLU80th doesn't have a current equivalent - going with the Sport S and missing some of the equipment that can't be had on that trim, it's a $9k increase. Going to the Sahara that I have to go to to actually get an equivalent Jeep is a $12k bump.
