I noticed today after reading this that my Driver side has about 1" of play when installed. the corner is "bulging" an inch out. IF I push it, the window just goes back. I'm still under a 3 year warranty. Might have call Jeep for a warranty.

On the highway today and the rear driver side premium soft top window blew out and hit the highway. It was run over of course. Top up and windows down, Speed was 65 I know all the flaps were tucked and the channel threaded properly as it took the tapered tip with it. At least with a zipper it would stay with the Jeep. Anyone else have issues with the window not staying in-place? A full line of Velcro on the top might be better than just the small patch.

Yes! Same exact thing happened to me last fall !! I have a 2021 soft top and the driver side back window just blew out going about 70 down the interstate. I had been on the road over an hour. When it flew off It hit a car behind me and I had to pay damages.

I did get my window back from the side of the road.

I am very concerned that it could happen again when I get on the interstate. Don't expect much help from the dealer on this one. I don't know if the Velcro would help or not. I had all the windows shut up front so this should not have happened.

Must not have had the green belt fully installed when the window blew out. If I ticked that in every time I would probably be ok but ima not taking any chances.
I have the green tab and I installed in correctly and it still flew off

Anyone have a picture of the Zip tie fix? I think I understand it but a visual would be great.

I leave for Windrock next week and don't need another flying window incident.

Thank you!

Years back the proposed solution here was to drill a hole where the tab fits and put something like a hard metal trailer hitch pin to keep it in place. Nope, even under tension those fall out over time.

The zip tie solution is way much better. Easy to keep a bag in the back hatch with some dykes to snip off.

I haven’t lost one since I did it. I got the idea from her Trek Top Ultra where Bestop installed a strap on the side windows that had a snap to attach it to the tailgate retainer.

I’m going to do the zip tie but a cotter pin might work just fine.

Edit: nevermind, went out of the Jeep and the angle would be a bit much.

What angle are you referring to?

I like that idea too. Good thinking.
