By definition: if I'm doing the speed limit in the right lane and I come up to someone doing 20mph below the speed limit then I have to do something to avoid them, right? The alternative is to slow down and follow their lead, which is, of course, doing something to avoid them.
So in every state in the United States, if you are doing the speed limit and you happen to go 1 mph over that speed limit, and you pass a cop, they can give you a ticket.

I wouldn't say every road, but most roads have a minimum speed limit. They just never seem to post them. I was on a forum reading about it a while back, might have even been Quora or one of those ask a lawyer sites. Either way the best upvote from a lawyer who responded was that the general rule of thumb is 25 beneath the posted limit at least on highways is an acceptable minimum.

Obviously those assholes going 50 in the fast lane need to be executed, but going 15 under in a slow lane, most people get over pretty quick once they realize they're catching up on me.

The ones who don't get over before they get obnoxiously close, I usually find to be egotistical people who think I need to move for them. Pretty much every time I drive to work, there's always that one asshole who wants to inspect my tailpipe with two to three lanes wide open around me at 4:00 in the morning. I just sum it up to, some people don't pay attention when they drive.

Is what it is I guess.

I love the GTFOMA (get the fuck off my ass) button in German vehicles. It's an incredibly bright, almost laser-focused red light that almost always works to get them off your butt.

None of us would ever use the bright lights on the back of our Jeeps like that, right?

I am too busy passing people to worry about who is following close, get in the stack and try to keep up lol.

A few quick points, as an “OPINION” please stop being so uptight about MPG when you buy a jeep you should know that the word wrangler and MPG just don’t go together! SORRY!! ? drive it, enjoy it to its full potential, if you keep looking at your speedometer for your MPG you’re probably not enjoys the setting as much ?‍♂
When it comes to diesel vs gas prices keep in mind that most new vehicles manufactures recommend the use of a higher grade fuel like super with better octane which in my area at least super is more expensive then diesel, just sayin!! #jeeplife #notmpglife

It's funny cuz I was actually thinking recently that I should put a mirror on my rear bumper. At least at night when I get that inevitable jerk who's just a little too close, he's only going to end up blinding himself. Not 100% sure it's legal, but I feel it might be effective if nothing else. Got to get the angle right though, make sure it's right in their eyes.

Your missing the point...how many can say they are getting 30+mpg in their Jeep? Or even 25+ or 20+mpg? It is fun to be able to claim that. I usualy get 25+mpg and drive however I feel like.

Really, how many can say that with any real 4x4?

If it wasn't for the diesel, and its economy and range, we wouldn't own 2 Jeeps, a Wrangler for my wife and a Gladiator for me.

I own a JLU diesel,
The point I’m making is I ain’t driving it like a grandma ? just so I can say I own a 4X4 that is getting close to 30 MPG!! It is more fun to drive it in a way that you enjoy it, then to be able to claim i’m getting 30 MPG but I have a piece of wood with a buzzer under my accelerator pedal so I don’t mess up that number ??? jeeps are essentially a brick by design it’s not about MPG but SPM (smiles per miles)

You're probably right to question whether that's legal or not. I do know, however, that people get pissed AF when I turn on my rear light.

Maybe something as simple as a red LED on a switch that makes them think that they're being recorded? They're always being recorded by mine, but it's stealth.

Here in Ohio the gap has really closed recently and is down to only about 30 cents. I’d choose the Ecodiesel even if diesel was twice as expensive.
About $3.99 for 87 and between $4.89 and $5.99 for winter blend diesel here in WA.

I average 21-22mpg when I have to do a lot of city driving on my mostly stock JLU, and that's perfectly fine. But I'm absolutely floored when I get 30 - 31 if I'm doing long highway trips. That's just cool to see that out of a jeep. I don't even slow down any. If the posted speed is 70, I'll go 70...or whatever the higher flow of traffic is ;)
My diesel prices are going down as well in NC. Currently only 20c or so difference. Still expensive from when I bought it back in June 2021 (2.39 then, 3.19 now) but much better than 5.79 back in sept 2022!
Still, with the 'not going to ever make up the cost difference of gasoline' I can't stand the gasoline engine now that I've driven the diesel. The powerband is just so different, the gas engine feels slow to respond and get to speed. Even worse when I try to speed up on the highway to pass someone.

It's definitely not fun keeping it 55. For me it's just knowing that if I wanted to in the future, I know what my high end is.

However my favorite thing about owning my EcoDiesel Wrangler is the throttle. Every time I leave work it's basically a right turn onto the highway, there's always a lot of traffic there. I love the fact that I can get on the highway with small gaps in traffic without causing anyone else to slow down. To be able to go from zero to 85 by the time I hit the end of the on ramp, just so much fun!

There's a guy I see often driving home from work, has a 392 Wrangler on 37s. He's always speeding. I always get a chuckle out of the fact that I can keep up with him until he tops 100. I'm pretty sure he's confused every time he sees a non-392 keeping up with him. It's not like you can really tell it's an EcoDiesel unless you're looking for that one badge in the back.

For me really, I can read all about other people's high mileage numbers, but it's nothing quite like doing it yourself. And then from there I will always know how to get 30 mpg out of my EcoDiesel. Something someone else who hasn't done this, can only take guesses about. I guess it's similar the difference between applied sciences and basic sciences; Doing something yourself, and reading about someone else doing it. You don't gain experience without taking action. ?

On what planet is a 7.5 second 0-60 "keeping up" with a 4 second 0-60? 15.8s 1/4 mile vs 12.9s (which would be quicker if it weren't already at the speed limiter)? Sure you can "keep up" with anyone when you're both choosing to drive the same speed. With your current experiment you can't even keep up with the big rigs pulling triples.
