The only thing I care about on my dash, is Miles driven.
Have you verified that your speedo / odometer is accurate? Tire wear, bad estimates on diameter, Tazer diameter fudge factor, etc. will throw all of your numbers off. Hopefully it's close enough.

I'm still running the factory 255/75R17 Destination MT's. The treads are definitely worn the heck down. I believe this tire came with 18/32 tread depth. And at this point I'm at 5/32 tread depth all around.

But really if anything, that means that a smaller size tire would actually be against my favor. It would mean that I'm doing less miles than I'm actually doing. Which would actually be my favor.

Also too, not to say that companies don't lie, but the odometer is a federally mandated measuring tool on vehicles. Falsifying odometer readings is in fact a crime. So to say that FCA is adding faulty odometer readings to our Wranglers, is a class action lawsuit just waiting to happen. If that's true, that's out of my control.

However my tires are in fact factory, my rims are not but that doesn't really matter 17-in rim versus 17 inch rim, same difference really. My current rim is beadlock, though I doubt that makes much of a difference. Again if anything that would be against me because I have an even heavier wheel on there.

So if anything at this moment we're looking at a heavier wheel, and a 13/32" smaller tires than what they were when I first purchase my Wrangler, rolling around on a possibly falsified odometer provided by FCA.

I'm all for conspiracies, let's roll with it!

Not much has changed today.

When I got off of work it was already rush hour traffic. And as much as I like the idea of taking up a whole lane going 20 under, on a four-lane highway, rush hour traffic is not the place to be doing that. So I've since decided this afternoon on my way home from work, to finish up my run tomorrow after work. ?‍♂

Beggars can't be choosers.

I'll film you guys a better one this afternoon when I leave work to go complete this run.

It's rather dark at 4:00 a.m. in Texas, and this is very much so a two-hand operation, one for steering one for pressing of buttons. Hopefully it'll be a little easier to understand and see when it's daylight. So I'll see you guys in like 10 or 12 hours when I get off of work. ;)

Final MPG: 34.86 ?

Jesus Christ that's off by a lot!

I was not expecting that! Kind of heartbroken, but technically I still beat my last full-fledged MPG run.

So there you go, a PCM tune and driving like an asshole for a week will net you a 1.4 MPG increase, versus driving like an asshole without tuning your PCM for a week!

Was it an MPG run? Yeah

Was it one with hypermiling and going super slow? Nope

The highways around me have a speed limit of 70, so I was going a low of 65, a high of 75 depending what traffic was doing. City streets, similar five under minimum, three over maximum.

Basically it was an average everyday driving with a little bit more engine warm up time because it's been chilly out in the mornings.

Today we've been doing lots of stop and go errands city driving, so the numbers probably dropped quite a bit because of that. All the same, not bad numbers for the amount of idling I did.

Yeah idling the diesel in this cold weather we have had in Texas took a hit to my MPG"s as well. Not a bad run, right at sticker with that one.

Maybe I need to put Michelin Defenders on my Jeep and run that way. 35" Michelin's only come in a 20 inch wheel. Maybe slamming the Jeep is an option? ?

I don't know if it's cuz I'm old, or just not up to date, or maybe just not down with the slang of yesteryear... What exactly is slamming a vehicle?

Hell yeah. 25" low profile tires. Swap the springs for the lightest 2d Sport springs possible (probably be riding on bumps). Get the Euro bumper, the one that molds into the front flares.

I bet @Tredsdert could get 35 mpg's. Though, I bet he is too chicken to do it. :giggle:

Definitely the opposite direction I'm heading.

Hey, chickens lay eggs, and eggs are delicious, I'll happily be a chicken! ❤

Realistically speaking though, if I'm spending thousands of dollars to change my whole suspension, you better believe it's going to be bigger not smaller. ;)

So this last tank I've just been driving normally.

Driving type:
95% highway, 5% City

My speed range:
City: +/- 5 MPH speed limit
Highway: -5/+40 MPH speed limit

Idle time:
~7 minutes before every drive

MPG total: 21

Put it this way, in a 3.6, with my driving style, I would probably be closer to 15-17 MPG.

Glad I bought an EcoDiesel!! ;)
