The issues piling up man... maybe MY2019??

Hopefully general unacceptable quality issues, certainly including welds, are the reason behind the mysterious stockpiling of 30,000 JLs. Fix it, Jeep.
I considering canceling my order that I placed on 2/12.

I just took a look under my JL Sport. Lots of rust spots on the welds. Also several places the robot missed a seam altogether. It's not slag in the pictures posted. While I've not been to the Wrangler plant, I'd bet a lot of money the robots use shielded gas welding (GMAW) which doesn't produce slag.
You will still have silicon slag from the GMAW process. Plus this frame is 80% galvanized, so those impurities are coming to the surface during welding.

I know very little about welding, but I have gone through many posts about the weld and rust issues. Some of the member seem to suggest that rust is normal, and it's not unusual to see them on new car. It's just that Jeep rusts are more visible because of the ride height. So, I jack up 2 of my current cars and took a few pictures. Let me know what you think.
1 car is a 2016 BMW 235i xDrive which I had for 1.5yrs, the 2nd car is a 2017 Acura MDX which My wife has been driven for a little more than a year. I live in Pacific NW (Seattle), both cars are driven all year long, but the BMW is parked in the garage.

What do you think?

Ok I know nothing about welds! I just inspect "Ruby's" belly. I took a bunch of pics. For starters, I picked her up on Jan 17. (Ordered Nov 7, I think). Im in the Northeast and its rained or snowed a few times a week ,since the day I picked it up. Weather has straight up sucked!!!! Anyway before you look at these pics, know this, the brown on the welds IS NOT RUST! (on this Jeep) I know nothing about welds, as Ive said, but I do know rust. It looks like a brown paint or something or maybe something related to welding, I don't know but I can assure you this brown stuff is not rust. Nothing jumped out as horrible to me, I took a few other pics to while I was under her. (she was a little shy) lol. Anyway, check it out......

No major rust just some small spots. A very light sand and touch up with some BBQ Grill paint stuff is tough.

Dynamite’s welds look pretty good. Way better than the ones on that sheared trackbar.

Feb 12 2018 build date. At the dealer at the moment. Dealer brought in some a hole from district who seems to think the following is ok and normal.

Slag on 85 percent of the welds
Overweld...big pools and weld wire left on frame
Porous welds..at least a dozen mabe 2 dozen
Track bar bracket is only half welded...looks like it wandered on the weld
Weld splash all over the place.

Dealer is trying to call their district head
I will be calling jeep cares later today.

I build custom motorcycles in my spare time and would never allow welds like this on one of my bikes.

Painting over rust does not really work, if it was 20 years old, and you were saving money a spray over to get a couple more years out of it. If I had bought that used and was restoring, I would replace or strip completely and repaint... that rust in picture looks more than a little spot that chipped and rusted. IT appears like its rusted under it and painted over, but I cant tell for sure from picture.
Did you use the hooks ever? Looks like they got chipped from a chain then rusted to me.

Curious about what the "mysterious stockpiling of 30,000 JLs" is about. Can you fill me in please? Thanks.
