Getting a few more mods finished up in preparation for heading off to Moab and EJS. New front Adam's Extreme 1310 front driveshaft installed. Spent some time under the Jeep checking things, greased the drive shaft and front steering linkage. I found a couple of loose bolts on my skids...pays to check things. Felt good getting a wrench in my hand again.

RK No Limit Sway Bar Links installed...

Really looking forward to getting these on the trail soon. On street observation(s), you'll feel a little more of the road as these are virtually a solid link (no NVH dampening). I may choose the switch back to the TeraFlex links I was running for a more comfortable on road drive when I'm not wheeling. Steering might be a tad quicker/more direct with the RK links.

Steven. I just noticed you had a little rubber piece around the bottom of the spring. Did you add that? Reuse from OEM maybe? I just happened to notice that in these pictures! New links look nice. Thanks for the on road feedback.

Hi J, I believe those are the Daystar Coil Spring Isolators. We had planned to use the MetalCloak version but they showed up late during the lift install and the shop had these on hand.

They're necessary to correct spring bow. The grey isolator was simply switched over from the stock spring.

Steven,

Ha, I now realize my question wasn't that clear. Yes, I was referring to the grey isolator. Thanks for the comment though on the spring isolator. I did notice your springs are sitting nice and straight so assumed you had some aftermarket isolator. I assumed the MC product but nice to know the Daystar product did the job as well.

Stephen,

I've been following your build for awhile now and apart from all of the killer upgrades you've done to Rubi, the thing that impresses me the most is how freaking clean your Jeep is. I mean, looking at your undercarriage, one would think you've never even driven through a puddle, much less off road in Moab and elsewhere.

What's your secret? I'm not OCD about cleanliness but I like to keep things looking clean down there too.

Ahh, I missed it!

Does anyone know the purpose of the grey isolator? Is it a NVH thing???

Well...I like using my Jeep for what I built it for, but I'm a little crazy about cleaning after hard us.

I had a friend of mine who is not a Jeeper once told me that "Jeeps are cool to look at, but crawling under them (when built) is what is really cool!" I kinda agree with him. So, keeping it clean does two things for me, I like the way it looks (showing of the aftermarket parts), and it's a pleasure to work on.

In hate the black paint Jeep uses on the frame, axles, etc.. I take the time to rattle can the frame/axles with semi-gloss black Rustoleum. That alone makes for a better looking Jeep. The rest of it, I pressure wash. I live in Chicagoland so keeping the salt at bay is crucial for me. If I'm slinging grease, I'll get under the Jeep and clean once a year.

Maybe I am OCD after all;)
