There are people that have had issues. I’ve had no issues with the most recent version. People having problems with any product are often the first to post and are generally a minority. As others have said it’s difficult to know the failure rate. But to base your decision on such a small sample size and make sweeping statements seems short sighted to me.

Will these fit on a 24 Rubicon X? I couldn't get a confirmation from anyone I called. They didn't change frame so I assume they would. I just took delivery yesterday and wanted to order a pair. I just assumed websites hadn't been updated for 24s yet. I do know I have to remove the factory slider for them to fit. Maybe that is what throws people off?

You called RSE and they didn't know? You could offer to be their guinea pig if they send you a set.

I have not put them on yet... waiting for some other stuff so it will be the beginning of December before I can put them on :( (oh well). BUT I agree I'm 99.8% sure they will fit (GOD I hope they do LOL). Like stated other than the grill and interior it literally the same Jeep. My mud flaps were not confirmed to work on the 24... no issue (other than I need to get rid of the stock rock rails).

We currently have a '24 Rubi X on the rack getting a set of RSE sliders, so far everything looks good. Will post back up if we run into any issues.

Edit: We did run into a few issues on the new 2024 Wrangler.
  • The body mount bushing are a little bigger, we had to do some trimming of the rubber.
  • We also had to slot the holes in the frame that the RSE brackets bolted to.
  • The in cab on-off switch bracket doesn't fit in the same place.

Waiting to receiving mine. I'll be patient for now.
Just wanted to add an update here. Got my step sliders installed in mid-June 2022, they worked great until Mar 2023 when the passengers side started closing with quite a clang. RSE sent me bump stops which settle the issue for a few weeks. Then the passenger side started having conniptions. It would cycle open and closed several times on opening or closing the passenger side doors before settling the appropriate open or closed position. Once or twice it did this while the vehicle was in motion (doors closed of course). I tried pulling the fuse the reset the system, but with no success and eventually the passenger side stopped operating completely. Driver side still worked.

I got too busy to troubleshoot or follow-up on it, but fast forward a few months into Nov 2023 and contacted RSE, they initially thought it was a bad controller, they sent me a new controller/motor assembly. Unfortunately that did not resolve it. After a little more troubleshooting, they sent me a replacement harness. Replaced the harness and all is good again (equals happy wife).

I dissected the old harness and it turned out there was corrosion in one of the crimped butt connections supplying +12VDC to the passenger side controller. I figure this bad/contaminated crimp was made during the manufacturing of the harness as this butt connected was well seal within an adhesive shrink tube.

It been working great since the harness was replaced, hopefully no more problems, but if something happens, I sure know how to test the system now. Kudos to RSE for their support, they gave me a wealth of information about the system.

I will update as well. I got mine on my 2024 392. LOVE THEM and it was worth it.
HOWEVER supposedly the front body mount is different on the 24's? (heard it on the 392 forum). I'm not sure if I got some updated sliders or If I just got lucky. The only issues I had was none of the pinch seam holes lined up for the studs.... so I had to get aggressive with a step bit to hog them out. was not happy about that. Also the skid plates did not line up well. I got them on, but it took some time.

NOW I'm not bitching, like I said I love them and the wife and kids REALLY love them. Just letting everyone know my personal install experience was meh. Also I did these 100% by myself (thank you craftsman hydraulic stool for the assist LOL)

The RSE customer service has been very good, and the design and construction are good, but these steps will continue to require attention and regular maintenance as long as you own them. Depending on your use, they may require a LOT of maintenance.

If you run on the sand/beaches the steps will get packed with damp, salt-laden sand. If you don’t drop/open the steps and rinse them thoroughly, which takes at least fifteen minutes per side, you’ll be leaving salt and grit against your wiring, motors, and articulating joints. That won’t end well. It’s a similar scenario if you run on snow and ice laced with salt or mag chloride. Mud isn’t great either.

If I go to the beach I’ll spend at least a half hour rinsing the steps out. Then I let them dry. Then I lubricate/maintain them according to the RSE instructions. That’s no big deal on a warm Sunday afternoon when you have nothing better to do. It’s more of a chore when it’s 20 degrees outside, the steps are packed with snow, ice, and salt, and you don’t want to hook up the hose, freeze your ass off, and turn your driveway into a solid sheet of ice.

The sand in the picture below is what was left on the driveway after a few hours on the beach followed by a 250 mile drive and a 30 minute rinse. Most of the sand was washed out of the picture. That sand and salt can’t be allowed to work back and forth against the guts of those steps.

Again - for those that find themselves having to periodically pull and reset the 20 amp fuse:

I replaced my fuse with one of these (which helps when the weather is bad because it's faster, and even easier in the dark) : Amazon.com: GLOSO Circuit Breaker 20 A E69 for Marine Truck Boat RV Automotive Mid Range Mini T3 Manual Reset Swatchable Compact Midum IP66 (20 A) : Automotive

(yah - original typos included :) )

You can use any brand of 20 amp manually resettable circuit breaker you prefer.
Good idea.
Mine actually came with an on/off switch as part of the wiring harness, it mounts next to the battery using the included bracket.

Um... that's supposed to go in the cabin at the OBD2 port? When did that change?

Yep, that's something RSE started a few months back. Now instead of pulling the fuse, just flip the switch.
