factory inspection where it's selceted for addition quality inspection, always a bunch of Jeeps get selected for this
To add to this, my new Jeep had ~30. I know the dealer grabbed gas, but you could see the gas station from the dealership. I am pretty sure mine was chosen for additional inspection. I had Performance Evaluation Run (PER) or something like that on my build sheet, so 30 didn't seem to off to me when I picked it up.

Heck, when I bought my JLUR new in 2018, it had 400 miles on it! The dealership manager was using it to get to work for a month b/c it is a manual transmission and nobody wanted to buy it. 24 miles is not bad in comparison but does sound like some shipping damage which is minor compared to what you could do off-road. Definitely is a downer at delivery.
I have to chuckle, because everytime I've seen a new car with miles on it the (supposed) driver is the owner/GM/owner's wife. I think that that sounds better than salesman Joe's car is out of commision so we leant it to him for a week to cart around his kids/dogs.

Years ago, my wife and I drove from Scottsdale to Prescott (100 miles) to buy a hard-to-find vehicle that we were told, over the phone, was "new". When we got there it had 7K miles on it!!! But...they were put on by the owner's wife, and the car hadn't been titled, so they considered it still new. Cmon guys - get real.

400 miles would have been easier to swallow.

Take a look at the Jeep factory on Google Earth. There are many, many, many acres of parking lots for storage there. If it got sent to one location in those lots then moved to another for shipping or storage, that may make up a bit of the miles. I don't think what you are seeing is too bad if this is the case. But who knows if that is what has happened to your Jeep. Good luck and enjoy the new ride! :like:

My new 2021 had 37 miles on it. Dealership shuttled it between their two lots a few times.

There is a thread regarding this on the forum, miles on vehicle at time of purchase. I think as mentioned by other members this depends on storage and moving of the jeep as pre delivery like at the factory or on dealer lots where they might move the vehicle from different location due to space etc, to do the pdi, then to go get gas. Right now I would say judging by my area that dealers lots are so empty that storage wouldn’t be an issue but then again depends on how many vehicles are being delivered at the same time to the dealers lot, from my experience anything between like 5 to under 20 miles is normal

Only posers buy a Rubicon and worry about scratches. LOL. Think of it as in the movie Braveheart. FIAT and the dealership have rites to your ride before you take possession.

I'm only kidding. I got mine with 9 miles on the ODO in 2019.
Just get the dealership to take care of your concerns as you should pick it up in pristine condition.

I told my sales man, that I didn't want them doing anything to MY Jeep off the trailer. I received it with all the wrappers and stuff still in boxes.

Best of luck and congrats on your Jeep.

24 miles, who cares. Jeep says that the randomly pick some Jeeps for extended quality control drives so just assume that your Jeep was so lucky and move on.

Regarding the fender though, that needs to be fixed. Glad your dealer is taking care of it for you.

I’ve actually been to the factory and witnessed this first hand…Wranglers coming and going all day long on test drives.

I live in Toledo, and witness convoys of newly built Jeeps (with window stickers) being manually transported from lot-to-lot around the factory all the time. I can see that being 3-4 miles each trip.

That being said though, the damages you described are suspicious .. builders could have been a little rough, or careless test drivers. Either way, it was sold to you as a brand new vehicle -- don't accept ANY B-grade parts. Give the entire vehicle a thorough once-over and have them switch out everything that's irreversibly damaged/flawed.

I have bought JKs off the lot with 1 mile on them and have had JLs I ordered with as little as 2 miles and as high as 42 miles. The one with 42 miles was because of testing at the factory because of the manual transmission recall last year. My XR Rubi I got at the end of January had 17 miles from the factory and then another 6 because the dealer had to test it after PDI. They used to not drive it after PDI per my request, but they tell me because of new rules in place they have to. Hopefully the one I have on order now won’t have as many as last one, but being another XR I am wondering if they test them all from the factory. Guess I’ll find out soon enough.

My 2022 JLUR had 22 miles on it. Not even an issue to me. Some dealers have a single gas pump on site, my dealer does not. So they have to drive all vehicles to the gas station for the first full tank of gas. So fuel and dealer PDI adds a little mileage to whatever was added to get it to you.

I looked at the rail yard where my Jeep comes in town. The parking lot is huge. Just getting off the rail car and to a parking spot adds some distance. Then it has to be driven from parking spot to the trailer for dealer delivery, it all keeps adding up.

Don't sweat the miles , we just picked up my wifes 2022 JLR last week. It had damage very similar to your fender, but it was located on the drivers and passenger side of the hardtop. The shape of the damage is exactly the same. Dealer indicated is was probably something from the delivery truck. Awesome color, love those 2 doors!
