Looking at purchasing a power/pressure washer and foam cannon for washing my Jeep and my little convertible. What do you guys use? Doesn't need to be super powerful- I'd prefer not to strip paint or accidentally lose a finger.
Kranzle K1122TST is a great unit at 1400 PSI and 2.1 gallon per minute. It's a very high quality German design pressure washer sold in the US. Commercial quality and super robust. Now I am using a Kranzle 599TST 240 volt unit. Its a 2500 PSI washer at 2.5 gal per minute. I have a lot of yard equipment I wash or I would have stuck with the first unit. Foam cannons work great on both.

2,000 PSI is “ouch” range, so I figure 4,000 is “have the car running” range for a trip to the vet. I need a new one and figure 2,700-3,000 is more than enough to clean siding, concrete, etc.
I will tell you this: I bought that power washer almost 20 years ago, its never failed to not start on the first pull...even the 10 years it sat out under a shed (no walls) and only was used over the spring-fall months on my ranch. Over the 20 years, I have gone thru 2 pumps and YES 4000 psi @ 3.8 GPS will do a job few others will. I would trade it or trade it down for anything.

It Heavy Duty to the max and if you do not have a requirement at that level, don't go down that road. But out on the ranch, I used it annually to clean rocks. Here is a pic of rocks I just finished cleaning. I have rock all over the ranch house, patio, walls, and sidewalks, and it all limestone and sandstone. As a result, it gets dirty and turns blackish and I powerwash every year in the early spring and then early fall. If you had seen this before I cleaned it would have looked a mottled blackish..ugly. Now you see the various shades of rock.

I just did this and bought an AR Blue Clean pro 675 and an MTM PF 22.2 foam cannon. It works great but with everything your going to drop $900. What your looking for is GPM not PSI and a 15 amp circuit. Most homes have 15 amp but you could get a 20 amp run to the garage if you wanted. The more powerful washers require a 20 amp circuit that most houses don’t have.
You’ll get a better foam with the more expensive washers and cannons but that doesn’t mean an entry level washer can’t accomplish the task. You’ll just want to make sure you have the correct orifice installed in the foam cannon and the correct sized spray nozzles for your pressure washer gun. The orifice size helps lower the PSI and increase the GPM.
As far as brands a budget would be good info. If you have thousands to spend and a 20 amp circuit a Krenzel would be great. Mid price AR Blue Clean and Comet are good and have 15 amp options. Entry level they are all similar but the Karcher seems to get good reviews. Just stay away from the Active VE52. It has quality issues.

I have two. I have the Sun Joe SPX4001-Pro which I use when the doors are on and a battery powered one with less pressure for when the doors are off. I bought the mrliance one off Amazon but it says it is no longer available. It has more power than a hose but not enough to completely soak my interior. I have the foam cannon for both of them. I also bought the undercarriage sprayer for the Sun Joe.

Yes on the foam cannon but I recommend skip the pressure washer. Unless you have other uses besides washing cars. I have the Chemical guys foam cannon. It's adequate but any of them will do.

I agree with you for the most part. Even when cleaning my yard equipment, I am careful not to shoot pressurized water into bearings, or around seals etc. Places where a person doesn't want the moisture to creep in. On the jeeps the door hinge pins come to mind. I am not a mudder so it works out well. A pressure washer is handy, but there are pros and cons.

Pressure washing is such a deep hole to dive.. Save yourself the time and just go with obsessed garage recommendations- he’s tested them all.

I’ve got the Comet & it does a great job washing cars. The included hose (70 ft I think) is better than any other bundled option. Gun/wand is one unit with adjustable spray. Works fine but I intend to upgrade it soon. Other accessories included with it are garbage really. I needed wall mount to save garage floor real estate so my options were slim. I was upgrading from the Stanley that someone already mentioned. Mine died after 3 years of light use so I wasn’t going to repurchase. However, the foam cannon that came with Stanley wall mount kit worked great.
Would have bought the wall mount Active but it was unavailable when I needed it. That would be my pick for budget-friendly and if you’re only focused on washing cars with it.

I had bought the electric Ryobi from Home Depot a couple years back for another project and stumbled across some videos on YouTube by IMJOSHV where he reviewed the Ryobi and recommended upgrades to tailor it more for auto detailing. Looks like @LatteSipper may have found the same video as the equipment he lists is all the same. It works great for washing but I have a higher powered gas pressure washer for everything not car-related.

Definitely get over to "obsessedgarage.com". The guy is obsessed with evaluating all the options out there and coming up with some great picks. He reviews everything in great detail.
