I also like the mpg's of my stock JL with 2.0L. I have averaged almost 25 mpg's over the 61K miles. Of course it takes a small hit with winter gas/temps. Do I drive like a grandpa??? Well I am in my 60's so probably.
I purchased my JL 100% for a toad behind my motorhome as well as a DD. Of course, because I'm in the Midwest I appreciate it's chops to handle winter weather. It has never been off road unless you count driving it on the beach in the gulf. But frankly any vehicle can do that too.
To the OP your mpg's will definitely improve. Apples to oranges comparison to my stock 2021 JLU but mine returns about 23 mpg's. My "method" of tracking is about as accurate as possible. My ordered vehicle had 9 miles on the clock when I picked it up & all fuel purchased to date ( and about...
Yes. Had it 3 years now & while it's got it's problems I love it. Never had a Jeep product until this JL. Regardless of Wranglers cult like following I think it's the perfect vehicle for seniors as well- which I am. Excellent visibility, nice high driving position, easy to step in/out, etc...
I purchased my 21 new specifically to tow behind my motorhome. It does that flawlessly. Mopar flat tow harness installed by dealer. It's also my daily. A "electrical" problem started in April that seems to be unfixable. Wipers start on their own & can't be stopped, all dash warning lights...
Consider a basic black hood decal. I had to add one as I travel into the sun in the a.m. and it helps the glare off the hood. Quadratech has one for $100. Don't get Quadratech's sill guards. They are great but will create a slight gap in the weather seal at the bottom of the front doors...
I think it's cute & it brings a smile to my face. I have been ducked maybe 5 times & I redistribute the ducks within a day or two. If this practice offends you may be holding on too tight.
I suspect parts availability will get worse starting tomorrow. I would think many of the support companies (suppliers) will be forced to shut down if the plants shut down.
$2k in gas alone plus eating & maybe a few hotel rooms. I'm your age and I'd sure be thinking about booking a plane ticket. You sound hell bent so have fun & safe travels!
The GC is still a climb when you are only 5' tall and have poor use of your legs. She CAN however get in/out of a 2014 Hyundai that is really right on the ground.
Kind of a coincidence reading this thread. My wife & I just made the decision last night to sell her Grand Cherokee as we care for a loved one that can't get in either of our vehicles. Recent stroke victim.
Back to the drawing board. My Wrangler is still having these episodes including loss of power steering. I gave the vehicle to my dealer for a week and supplied them with the attached TSB. They drove it & naturally it never failed for them. Sadly this TSB lead was a dead end. They charged me...
I enjoy watching dashcam car accident videos on youtube. Not looking for human suffering just the entertainment value watching idiots. It's amazing how many that cause accidents just keep on going afterward.
It's my daily driver so it's gets use every day. I did not charge the new batts just installed & turned the key. Looking back you are absolutely correct I should have charged fully first. The main batt I went with Optima DH6 & the aux was something else less memorable. Both were direct...
