So you stepped up, grabbed your huevos and did your first oil change, suspension mod, etc. Lots of first timers taking responsibility for the health and well being of their Jeep and telling the stealership to pound sand.
Tell us what you did and how it made you feel, cause you deserve some kudos :clap:

They only thing I did to the Sport was add power door lock latches, suspension, wheels/tires and the rock rails. Didn’t get a chance to do anything major before I traded it. Feels good knowing exactly what’s going on and how it was done vs hoping the dealer did it correctly.

Having done my fare share of mods and service on cars over the years, solo, I definitely dread it more. lol Anymore, I might just go through the safety training again just to use the lifts at the service/hobby shop on post an hour away. That or see if there’s one to rent closer.

Ive always been one to do my own maintenance- oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Since owning my Jeep ive done my first spring/shock swap when I upgraded to a Rubi suspension, wired my Jeep for trailer lights, tore into my dash to swap in the red dash panels and a few other minor mods. Im finding out a big part of the fun of Jeep ownership is finding things to do to make it your own and then tackling the job yourself plus the money you save and tools you collect along the way

Did you mean "grabbed your huevos" ?

I made my own tool/gun rack
Do my own oil changes, and brakes.

When I get my lift I'll install it myself.

Edit: I also made a small bracket for my fog lights on the new bumper

I fixed my bumper with a sledgehammer, as you know. I think I’m the first on this forum to admit to that. ;). It’s not a mod, but it’s definitely DIY.

After the 6 qts, leaky rear main seal, and backwards stabilizer at the dealer, I’ve learned my lesson. Maintenance, suspension, and other mods all DIY since.

Doc... Duh.
I do some minor wood working and house maintenance. Just got my Jeep and in two weeks started with... rugged ridge door sill guards. I know. 3M and an alcohol pad. Big first step.
Then rugged ridge stubby antenna. Going from tape to use of an actual wrench. Leaps and bounds.

From there just finished Rock Slide Engineering Step Slides for my JLUR. I have literally done zero car work beyond a new battery once. I got it done including having to mod the wiring completely due to the lack of a firewall pass through in my manual transmission Jeep.

Taking a break till spring then bumpers and winch.
