It’s ok to make fun of me for using a torque wrench on a drain plug. I’m no mechanic and usually break things by torquing bolts too much. Anyone have the office spec?

I’ve installed a Mopar kit myself on a previous JL and had positive results. None of the things you mentioned were required, although they certainly improve the performance.
