What is this part of the JL (or any vehicle, for that matter) called? The whole panel -- not just the buttons. I want to look for videos on if it's removable so I can hide that (dash cam) wire you see, but I can't even search decently because I don't know the name.

(The white on the cord is adhesive -- I have it running across the top and down the A-pillar, using adhesive the help it stay in place)

The panel is held in with clips and can be lowered enough to run wiring without fully removing it. I know this is not what you are doing but the video shows the process at the 1:30 mark

I recently hid my dash cam wire and got power for it using a garmin OBD to USB power port, I went along the top inside of the windshield, to the left (driver side) grab handle.

Took the handle off and hid the wire behind it, down the left side, into the foot well.

It took like 4 hours to get done right, but damn am I happy with how it turned out.

I can post pictures of the results later this weekend if you're interested.

I just ran mine where that open gap is by the windshield. The big plastic cover can be easily pulled down slightly in the area facing the windshield so an easy and quick poking of the wire over to the driver's side. Removed the grab handle and ran the wire down to the dash. I "think" I ran the wire down the outer area of that pillar trim but it's been around 4 years ago. At that point, you decide how to power which is a more time consuming task than running the wire.

Open the top, feed the wire through, run along the top, down the a pillar, you don't need to remove the molding, you just need to tuck it behind.

I'll take a pic or two later what I did.
