For what it's worth - I didn't have to remove my mount from the ceiling. Just gave it a good push and it spun right upside down. Still don't know why Jeep doesn't just install them this way to begin with!

Thank you, tall guy here and rearview mirror and ACC box are the most annoying hanging in my view!!! Maybe there's a shorter stalk available from Jeep or that would raise it up even more? Ideally I'd like it to almost touch the header above the windshield.
