So am I to understand she neutral dropped a camry hard enough to push a 4 door jeep over a curb? Wow. Sucks it happened to you but that's a ridiculous situation.
Right!
It’s unreal to believe it. I think she either didnt put it in Park or she freaked out and tossed it in Reverse and floored it.
Dreading the back and forth with her insurance. ?

@ELJL - I understand your frustration right now, but can you post additional pictures of the damage? I think we need to see more to understand exactly how badly damaged it is, or to at least venture a guess.
??Ill post more when the time comes.

Panicked while parallel parking? Seriously...?

There are way too many people out there that should not have received a driver’s license, let alone allowed to drive.

I live in a city of 90,000 souls; about 45,000 of them drive some type of Subaru. The average driving skill on local roads here is below that of a five year old.

Hopefully you reeled out the story to the insurance company better than you did us. That was confusing. :)
Yes, unfortunately the aforementioned head banging took its toll last night. ??

So I’ve been looking at some totaled examples, and it seems mine is dead too.

She was innocently just sitting there, parked, enjoying the sun.

Condolences welcomed. ?

Rear end hit totaled ours. No body damage, but bent/crumpled frame over the rear wheel.

It appears, at first glance, you were parked facing traffic on the left side of the road. She hit you with enough force to shove the Jeep up over the curb with its right rear tire locked (skid mark). The Jeep swung in the direction of the impact leaving its tail out to the left which caused it to end up in the tree with her behind you.

There is no Neutral anything, no parallel parking, no "I just don't know..." You were parked on the wrong side of the street, she was texting and drifted into your parked Jeep. It was her fault, but why were you parked on the wrong side of the street?

Where on earth were you parked that made this event possible?

That's an impressive list of what happened based off a few pictures. Lol.

I doubt if it's illegal to park on "the wrong side of the street" everywhere in the country.

unless there is something i am missing, there is no way this car is totaled. btw i am a NYS licensed appraiser and i co manage an FCA certified shop. for that car to total, you would have to have upwards of 35k in damages.
