"Get whatever you want"... LMAO... Have you run that through the woman language translator yet?

I got rid of that wife...the one I have now bought me the Harley I have. I have no issue in getting what I want and she has what she wants...she told me to get a new Harley too! This one is a keeper!

As the owner of a JL that has perfect steering who also owns a Yukon XL (aka Suburban), I can say that the JL definitely does not “run down the highway like a Suburban.” LOL It drives great and is super fun, but you feel every bit of 80MPH. I would not go 90 in mine.
I would like to know what cliff he drove off of to get his JL to hit 90mph. Lol

My 2-door JK goes up to 90 effortlessly , and sometimes a little more than 90 . Maybe something to do with premium fuel and street tires , maybe ?

I decided today, after reading the ‘bad welds’ thread, to cancel my order. I’ve been dying for a fully loaded, sting-gray Rubi since I first laid eyes on them, and I think about it day and night, but I just can’t do it right now.

The issue, for me, is the trouble I see, and, have personally experienced in test drives. I’ve driven a couple of JLs and all had vague steering. I chalked it up to a Jeep being a Jeep until I saw all of the threads and posts here and elsewhere. On one of the test drives, I took a JL Rubi on a stretch of highway where I could open it up and it was insane trying to keep it straight and to keep correcting it. People are sending letters to the NHTSA over frame welds. Nav/audio systems are going nuts. Fans sound like jets with fully opened throttles. Soft-tops are wearing easily. Hardtops have clips breaking. Turbos are burning to the ground after being built and a sock is supposed to fix it. Jeeps are randomly shutting themselves off while driving. Meanwhile, FCA keeps jacking up the price.

I want a JL. I NEED a JL. But I just can’t justify buying one right now. I’m just going to wait it out and see what the late model versions and the 19s have to offer.

If I’m wrong, change my mind. Please, seriously, do it. If you agree with me, what can we do to get @JeepCares to take these issues seriously and produce a higher quality vehicle, worthy of a $50k+ price tag, in the coming months?
This is a perfect example all that’s wrong with the internet. Anyone looking for the worst things written about something can find them in about 2 minutes without even trying. Instead of focusing on all of the positives, the Wranglers that are giving their owners grins from ear to ear a certain type of shopper gets paralized by the extremely small fraction of stories of unhappy owners that may or may not even be true. The internet is a powerful magnet for people who enjoy complaining often for no reason other than for the attention it brings them. If you spend too much time reading their stories you’ll end up missing out on a great deal of joy in life, finding yourself dragged right down with them.

My Wrangler has been nothing but non stop fun since the minute I bought it. And yes.. I read some of the complaints regarding the JL on this forum, and I went ahead and bought one anyway. And I’m very happy I did.

Don’t let the internet sap the joy from your life.

Very thoughtful . Do you have a 2-door ? What was the price ? I consider this important because I have a 2-door JK bought for $25K , and 2-doors are obviously going to be more agile than a 4-door ; and a too-expensive one will cause investment anxiety with those who paid too much .

Speaking of investment anxiety , how about Tesla-3 with the rear bumpers falling off in the rain , eh ? Per Jalopnik .

It’s kind of funny you sensed that I bought a new 2 door JL Sport- for $32,000 out the door, to be exact.

Your comment about anxiety is spot-on. I replaced a Porsche with the Wrangler, and my underlying reason was because I was sick and tired of the worry that comes with a vehicle that is so damn valuable. If a $32,000 car gets a ding who cares. It adds character. Haha

I guarantee that if you go 90 in a Suburban and then go 90 in your JK it’ll be night and day. Suburban/Yukon/Caddy floats. There’s a reason livery services use them, exclusively.

Yes, I can get my JL up to 90 and beyond, but it’s certainly not built for that.

Yeah , can you imagine a livery service picking up a self-important politician in a CJ ? What a laugh !

It sort of amazes me that regular people will spend so much for a vehicle . There is always a chance of any vehicle being banged up by a car door or a side pillar . But with a steel Jeep , hey , why worry ?

I know a guy with a new midnight blue Corvette , and he parks away from everyone , using two spaces to guarantee nothing will happen .

The build date of my wife's jeep was 4 Jun 18 and the welds looked good, no real problems as of yet. There is a learning curve when it comes to the ESS and the Park assist if you are not familiar with their function.

The only concern I have is about the ability to jump start the vehicle since the ESS battery is required to start the Jeep. Too many variables involved to give me a warm fuzzy when off the beaten path when it goes dead.

All said, I'm happy with the purchase so far.

I think everyone’s definition of effortless is different. I have driven countless Wranglers, and I have never driven one, stock or highly modified that would effortlessly do 90.

I parked my 17 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee away from everyone. I have parked every car I have ever owned away from everyone. I am all about avoiding people, regardless of the monetary value of my car.

This is very true. But please don’t take up two parking spaces. Just don’t. (Not implying the above member does.)

Nothing screams “I’m a narcissist!” louder than parking one car in two parking spots. Use only one spot as far away as you need to go to be fairly certain nobody will park next to your pride and joy.

I’m finished. :)

I never take up two spaces. I am a sarcastic bitch, but I am not a self-absorbed bitch.

People are generally too lazy to park out in BFE with me anyway. All alone is my happy space. :tumbleweed:
