I hope you left him a 1-star review for his trouble.
1 star? ha! I would get these photos uploaded to any review site that I can with the dealer name and the service guy who assisted me. If they don't own up to it and do the right thing, I would go full-court press on their asses. Talk to the service manager and the dealership owner if need be and FCA North America, JC, the whole deal.

Ill go that route if the dealer refuses to correct their mistake. Ive looked at photos ive taken angled at the side and no scratches visible, I have an iPhone 11 and with the light paint you'd see a white line of a scratch mark + plus why the hell would I scratch up my 80k 392...I maybe this car but I aint made of money, this was a treat to myself for working hard and grinding. Rubicon has been my dream Jeep since 2015 (even though I got a Sahara in 2018)

Looks like a cardboard box that was previously sitting on a dirty gritty shop floor was placed on your fender. I'm betting they are 100% aware of the damage since it's pretty damn obvious on that white paint.

If you can hang your fingernail in those scratches, it's far beyond polishing. The Clear coat isn't that thick. Some of those scratches appear to be completely through the clear coat and onto the base color.

This is pretty sorry customer service and sadly, its becoming very common.

Demand a new fender. Make them eat the costs. A good dealership will not need to be perduaded to pay for a brand new factory fresh painted fender to replaced this mess that they are 100% responsible for.

I had to get pretty nasty with my dealership to replace my hardtop this that they effed up trying to patch a factory paint defect. Made them eat that cost.
Yep (a good dealership) he will know soon enough. Hope he doesn’t get the F.....U I got because it wasn’t noticed before leaving.

I have a good relation with the service advisor (he was off today) so another advisor dealt with the Jeep. There were no advisor from what I saw, I went straight to the counter and asked for my key to the Jeep. My service advisor as a detailing company so he can tell if its fixable. but more than likely ill kick and scream for a new fender.

Man that is so bad. I feel your pain. Grind away to get something really nice and then some a———le on oil change duty decides to go nuts on your ride. Why I do all my own maintenance. I just don’t trust the dealer. Seen too many things in my life at the dealer. Finally gave up like 15 years ago. Just not worth it

Looking at it closer, it does look like a dirty cardboard box was tossed on the fender, quarts of oil were pulled out, and then it was drug off the side. Absolutely atrocious.

I have had no issues with this dealer (taken 2 of my vehicles + my parents have taken theirs). I figured sooner or later id have an issue but nothing like this. At least my tire/wheel didnt nearly come off like my dads did when they had it (different dealer we dont go to anymore)

Going to check tomorrow since the the bay gets hot. I honestly was surprised. especially since I didn't catch when I left since the car color is light compared that atrocious mess
Is there any chance the damage happened outside of the dealer? Was the Wrangler parked anywhere after the dealer? Maybe a idot rested a box on your fender while loading their trunk? Maybe dumb ass kids climbing on the truck? Definitely keep vehicles in garages if possible around Halloween.

Just at work on Friday for a few hours but with the color being light it would have jumped at me when I approach it. other than that it stays in the garage.

Are there security cameras at you workplace where you park?

Maybe it was not even the oil change guy? Maybe anyone at the dealership was stupid enough to rest a box on a fender? Delivery guy, etc.

I doubt a oil change guy would fess up if they did it. You used that dealer before and have a good relationship with the service advisor so I think they will take care of you. It would be interesting to find out what happened. Hopefully the dealer has security cameras on the property.

None at the work place but my the Jeep is parked nearest to the door leading to my laundry room so the driver fender is the first thing I see leaving somewhere and when I walk to the door since the path is narrow with how wide the jeep is.

Just got back from the local dealer (not Chapman) for its first oil change after the break in period. Just noticed (see photos below) the fender has scuffs scrapes and scratches…how do you damage a fender during an oil change let alone not clean up after yourself. Going to the dealer Monday to get this issue resolved, going to make them replace the fender with how new it is.

Yeah I drove from PA to FL in 2 days 1k miles, take to the dealer after the engine was probably broken in, and this is what I get. the 3.6L I didnt have to worry about breaking in as much but the 6.4L can be more complex and I want to ensure it lasts me along time especially with the V8 be like the manuals a dying breed.

One thing I didn’t point out or show was the hood near the latch has similar marking (no scratches) so it’s evident that it was the dealer just not sure what exactly was the main cause. Hopefully Monday morning I’ll have answer and no run around from them.
