My 37x12.50r17 kanati mud hogs are only 9lbs heavier than the 285/75r17 "33s" that came of my gladiator. You'd have to try really hard to find a 35 that was pushing 80lbs?

@COMBAT DOG, not sure why I didn't think of it, but my wife asked why you're not getting an AEV rig. They're not cheap, but they ride extremely well. Everything is designed to work together and your entire rig (lift, etc) will have a 3 year 36k mile warranty. Extremely high quality stuff.

You order your Wrangler through an AEV certified dealership, it gets built in Toledo, then gets sent directly to AEV in Michigan where they build it out for you.

https://www.aev-conversions.com/

Dan Cummins is the only known AEV dealership offering below invoice pricing. See the spreadsheet in my sig.

First and foremost, I did not know about AEV! I hit the link you anttached and it appears it is similar to Hennessy in Texas, but instead of Raptor, it is Wrangler? The website only contained 4 door versions? On a side note, my neighbor owns a Hennessy Raptor and it has tons of problems. As for price, I ordered the X for $7443 below MSRP, which I assume is below invoice. The decision to purchase a Wrangler was fairly impetuous, therefore I really didn’t research market price. Furthermore, I went to Peterson Jeep in Nampa, which is an AEV dealership and offered them $2k cash below MSRP, and they basically laughed at me and told me to stop playing games. That was about 3 weeks ago and the X had already been on the lot 6 weeks. According to the internet, it is still on the lot, so I am happy with the price I paid. Thanks for the info!

Another tire question: I pasted this off the build and price website
LT285/70R17C BSW Off-Road Tires

Is off road tires the same as all terrain tires?

If someone owns a Rubicon with stock 33’s I will super appreciate it if you whold take a pic from all four sides so that I can see the stance. I posted mySXS and trailer on Craigslist and allegedly a potential buyer is coming to see it tomorrow. My wife said if it is sold, she wants to buy a new pinkish Wrangler, therefore I am attempting to determine money math. Thanks!!!

I'm with those that say to drive it as is. When you start wanting to do more with it than it is currently capable of doing, then start changing things.

But as a dog owner with 37" tires and a 4" lift, I will tell you it's a pain in the ass with the dogs. All that lift is counterproductive to any dog related use of your jeep. My dog is now aging to the point he cannot jump in or out of any vehicle. So, it's a ramp or I have to lift him. He's 80 lbs. My back sucks. My jeep is too high for most any practical length ramp. So, the dog no longer rides in the jeep. It's always either in my truck or my wife's car now.

Maybe now I can give back to this community. My oldest Malinios is six and 90 pounds, but because of his job, he has a ton of miles on his body. Because of my job, I have a ton of titanium in my body and no left bicep. I use the attached to get my buddy inside a Raptor equipped with a 37 package. It works extremely well, is compact and effective. If you elect to buy it, please let me know if it helped. I can’t remember, but I probably bought it from Amazon..My dog is my life and I spare nothing for his behalf. My six year old is the reason I am alive….100%…..sorry for the drama!

Two more products to consider. Primo Pads will custom make a high quality pad to your specifications.

I used this fan in the Middle East and all my vehicles are equipped with it…..extremely reliable

One more, Smart Cap if you have a truck. Ventilation is second to none, a very high quality product

As the pillow guy says, that’s not all.
if I leave my dog inside of my vehicle for whatever and then go back to the vehicle and it’s not there, I cannot comprehend my thoughts. That happened to a friend and he found his dog inside a dumpster……in California. Video surveillance from the subsequent police investigation discovered two homeless pukes stole the vehicle for the crate. They poisoned the dog for the aluminum crate and discarded the body in a dumpster. F150 was torched. Nobody will take a vehicle with the attached installed. Well worth the money!

I have an AEV JL370 and absolutely love it.

From what I understand, it doesn't matter if you buy a 2 door or 4. Their upfit price is the same (not cheap). https://www.aev-conversions.com/vehicles/jl-wrangler/jl-wrangler-build-and-price/

I would leave it stock. My jeep is stock, not a Rubicon, and more than capable on fire roads and the beach.

I just ordered a 2 door Rubicon X, my first Jeep. I live in Boise Idaho and went to a local (Bucks) 4x4 shop that specializes in Wranglers. They advised me to switch to 35” tires and change the suspension, amongst other things. Bucks told me it could ride on the street like a Cadillac. I’m old and spent much of my time in the Middle East, so I like comforts. I’m not going to rock crawl, but I intend to hit fire trails. I plan to remove the rear seat for my two Malinois. I took delivery of the attached today, nets will not work for Malinois. To the question, basically I want it to look cool, drive well and be dog friendly. Bucks told me it will take about $12k and I’m good with it, but I don’t want to take it in the shorts as well. Can the Wrangler ride like a Tahoe? Will 35’s make it more prone to roll? What are some specific upgrades I can have installed to achieve my goal. I don’t know how to turn a wrench, so please be kind! Many thanks!

Bucks is trying for #ucks you. 33 tires will be perfect. You don't need to change anything. I love the new KO3s

Based on what you said, looks like you purchasing the wrong vehicle.

If you want luxury and fire trails, get yourself a 4Runner. The engine will last longer, and you'll have actual creature comforts, along with the much softer ride.

Also, you do realize that a two-door Rubicon X with an automatic transmission comes with 35 inch tires from the factory, right?

Not all of them do.
According to the Jeep build website, if it has automatic transmission, a Rubicon X comes with 35 inch tires. It doesn't say anything about manual transmissions. It's probably safe to assume a manual transmission Rubicon X comes with 33 in tires.

However if that's not true, can someone explain to me what the extra $10,000 is for?
