As I said, there are a bazillion reasons I don't own a plug in vehicle, I was more making a point about the hypocrisy of "clean energy". To be honest, I'm not real concerned about the "environmental impact" since it's all a load of hype to make people feel good about buying an electric car. Every product on this earth today has been on this earth for thousands of years...

That's why I don't listen to leftists. They be cray cray yo! Also, I don't watch any news really. I go and drive my Jeep into the mountains and go camping and smell the fresh air.

But some girl with mental illness screamed one time into a microphone and made a face like she was pooping so maybe I should start worrying about global warming.... seems legit.

My dad bought a Tesla because it made him giggle when he hit the accelerator. He test drove an RS5 the same day and said the decision was easy. He traded in an XKR for it and likes the Tesla more. I think a lot of people are missing out how fun some of the EVs are to drive. It's different than gas, and everybody has their preferences... but that instant torque is like a carnival ride.

I totally get that, but personally I can't see relying on a spotty power grid and very few charging stations where I live to commute... or be limited on how far I can travel, etc... Especially when off-roading.

Soooo...So some genius thinks that by parking vehicles that are either more fuel efficient or emit fewer emissions towards the front of the parking area will 'save the environment'... by forcing those cars which are less fuel efficient and emit more emissions to drive further looking for a parking space...Got it.

You do realize that without Carbon Dioxide, all plant life on earth would cease to exist, right?
whos talking about carbon dioxide? are you suggesting by producing excess carbon dioxide we are helping plants?. Before humans existed plants were just fine.

Without food we would cease to exist. That doesn't mean we can eat all the burgers and beer we want without negative consequences lol.

Every substance on earth now has always been here... It may have been made into a different form, but it was still here... Remember the huge gulf oil spill that was predicted to kill off billions of fish and take decades to clean up, but ended up having almost no impact to the environment? Yeah, man ain't going to destroy the earth...
People love to take extreme sides.

On one side you have the hippies telling us in 50 years the U.S. is gonna be under water and California is gonna be burn to ashes. These are the same who think we are evil because we drive Jeeps.

On the other side you have diehards telling us it is ok to spill oil in the ocean and just do whatever the hell we want without consequences.

That huge oil spill did not kill billions of fish because there were massive efforts to clean it up. But it did kill millions and it has had an impact on the environment of course it did. Lots of people life depended on fishing the gulf and their industry suffered from it.

We fuck shit we fix shit. But that fixing shit costs. There is no free lunch. And if we can save ourselves some trouble, then why not?.

SoCal's air quality was horrible in the 90s. You couldn't even see the san Gabriels from Pasadena. Now that we are burning cleaner gas, we can breath a little bit better and we can see the mountains. And we can still enjoy driving our cars.

Just because the world is not gonna end doesn't mean we can't make things a little better.

I think there is a middle ground. And I am educated enough that I understand we can't just go around and do whatever the hell we want without negative consequences.

Driving electric cars is not gonna "save the world" and driving Jeeps and other ICE vehicles is not gonna end the world. That's just absurd.

I refuse to buy any vehicle that has to be plugged in for these very reasons, along with a bazillion others... Electric vehicles are far worse on the environment than gas vehicles from mining, to battery disposal/recycling, etc.

Here's a Lithium mine:

Just this afternoon, I noticed three "Veteran Parking" spots near the front door of our local Texas Roadhouse restaurant. The signage was supplemented by the painted blue ribbons in each spot.

Some years ago, one of the local malls set up a couple of "Expectant Mothers Only" spaces near the JC Penney entrance.

Coincidentally, the only related signage/spaces that I've not yet seen are the "Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking" ones, matching that in the quoted post.

Two weeks ago I saw a similar sign at the visitors center of a local wind farm, Wild Horse Renewable Energy Center, in Ellensburg, WA. BUT, they had a second sign below the first which invited electric vehicles to drive up the main entrance, park on the patio & charge. It was an opportunity I could not pass up.

Then we spent some time at the nearby Ginko Petrified Forest where another free to me charger was available.

I'm not saving the world, but I did save myself about $5 worth of gas while charging at these two locations.

I've no interest in the 4xe, but I'd probably enjoy using public charging spaces, if only to reset folks' expectations of what's available in the market.
