I preordered mine in Nov of '20 before pricing was released, so I have a very early build. It's had some issues which I fully expected. The vast majority won't be as troublesome, but you'll still encounter the odd lemon.
Design wise, the things about the 4xe that may prove frustrating have to...
I picked up mine yesterday. They finished the two recalls, brake, tranny, & xfer case fluid changes in 5 hours time. I dropped it off with ~63%battery charge, never received any notification that charging had started, and picked it up with 45% charge. I had a long discussion with the Service...
Definitely pull the transfer case one position back into 4H-Auto. It pulls much harder off the line that way, otherwise it'll limit torque in 1st and 2nd gear.
I also had a burning smell for the first ~150miles especially on longer, highway trips. At the least, there's a sticker on the muffler...
Back in July of '21, I got 1" of lift from my 4xe specific Mopar lift, rev AA, on my mostly stock Rubicon 4xe. The Fox shocks were a major improvement over stock. After installing rock sliders, a winch, skid plates, tire carrier, etc., I think I was about back to stock height. Lack of lift in...
I updated the first post with spreadsheets which reflect the 10Jan2024 pricing.
Not much changed; most notable were Sarge and Bikini paint colors no longer available and the 4cyl engine available again.
I traded the same vehicle (an ST3) for my JLURe because I was tired of: speeding tickets, stacking rocks (and damaging the front airdam) to get to trailheads, and using my GF's Grand Cherokee to go skiing. Plus I had moved a couple miles from work and no longer had a twisty, secondary highway to...
Last weekend I had a great time on the very cold (1F) snow. We usually get heavy, wet snow near freezing temperatures. This was quite different and nearly impossible to crawl on - especially with a heavy 4xe.
Hi Greywolf,
Yes I see 8th on the highway, but more on my way back from the trails on I90 (downhill) than I5. I'm usually doing 70mph max, so it doesn't take much to downshift a gear or two. The transmission seems to handle the tire size just fine.
My next set will probably be some Mickey...
Hello BenDiesel,
Congrats on your new ride & welcome to the forum.
I'm a ways South of you, over in Snoqualmie, and, like Unrated, am also a member of the Timber Tamers. Sounds like you've been wheeling a while, but I've found the club is helpful with finding new areas, having company on trail...
The option packages didn't change much, but the Nov 8 prices included base price changes across all models.
Nov 8 Changes
4Door Sport Base Price increased 400
4Door Sahara Base Price increased 1000
4Door Rubicon Base Price increased 1900
4Door Rubicon392 Base Price increased 1550
4Door Sport...
Well, judging by my previous post, I never got around to posting the updated spreadsheet for the Jul 4Door pricing. Sorry, folks.
Tonight, though, I attached the updated spreadsheets for the Late Oct price lists; I'm going to do the early Nov ones next. As for late Oct, this is what I saw that...
No, I find shifting to Lo works well when driving slowly.
Also, you can setup the center display to show your transmission gear the same way any other JL does. Perhaps using manual shifting to keep the engine spinning at higher speeds will help.
Thanks, Ormandj. The 4xe has plenty of power for the smallish "37 inch" KO2's (which in reality measure 35.5") and light wheels. My tire& wheel combo weighs 87Lbs, so much less than others. I'm planning to run these tires until the tread is gone, then switch to some true 37's, probably Mickey...
It's been just over a year since I've added to this build thread, so I'm definitely overdue.
On 23July2023, I added the Teraflex Ebrake extension spacer, p/n 4357100 ($50). This is supposed to allow for over 2.5" lifts.
Radios
In late April, I added a Midland MXT575VP4 GMRS radio bundle...
I've been busy installing a new lift on my JLUR, so no detailed change analysis on this update.
4 Door coming soon.
[Edit: Both updated spreadsheets attached to first post...now back to my lift install :) ]
Your Jeep is not lemon unless this issue remains unresolved for 30days or 3 attempts to fix it. Given that it's a '22 model and you're only having issues now, I'd bet it's NOT going to be a lemon. That doesn't mean this will be an easy fix, necessarily, or that it won't take a few weeks to have...
Reinstalled my King steering stabilizer along with a relocation bracket. With the stock unit (a warrantee replacement, I might add), I could already feel a slight wobble at my oscillation speed of 49mph. Its gone now, but I'm certain there is something else causing it...just better masked with...
