Definitely a Hi Lift mounted on the hood of a stock Sahara. You can't use it to jack anything up but it's a sweet decoration.

Angry grill shadowed only by a dual LED lightbar you can use to help errant plane land at night if required.

Ducks. Of all shapes and sizes so if you need to emergency brake, they will fly all over the Jeep.
Unrelated, but just the other day, around dusk, I was approaching a nice looking Jeep from the rear on the highway. Nice wheels (judging from the spare), 35s, some tasteful other decor, etc. Threw the wave and then INSTANTLY regretted it as they shifted to be in my rear-view mirror.

Full Mall Crawler, complete with angry grill and PURPLE headlights with some other RGB nonsense up front. Good grief people.

Get a can of matte black high temp manifold paint, sandpaper the muffler, paint it. That thing is so hideous back there, black it out blends right in beautifully. First thing I did on the 3 Jeeps I've had so far, cost $5 and 10 min max...re-scuff and reapply as needed...
This is on my to-do list because I also hate the trashcan look.

It is for the Doors also! Great cheap little tool kit to remove the door hinge bolts. Very convenient to keep in the glove box or in the rear floor storage area.

LOL, I figured most would just see "Hard Top" and not the next word "Door"
JLs come with a tool kit for removing all that Torx screws for doors and top.

Funny. I ain’t got what y’all list as ā€œmust havesā€ā€¦ screen protector, seat covers, and stubby antennae. My must haves were 37s, winch, and RSE steps. But I admit, I have only used the winch to get a lawnmower out of a ditch. (Hey, don’t judge me).

I actually like the whip antenna everyone is against it seems. Kind of like an oh shit indicator when entering parking garages in downtown areas lol. If that hits it’s immediately in reverse to figure out if I can make it. Have had issues where lots have been repaved and the posted height sign was off in certain spots.

Hi all, I am expecting my first Jeep next week. I have purchased a Jeep Sahara. I was reading in Google that there are several must do customization require in Jeep, like seat cover, steel bumper, entry guards, hood latches. I am not sure what are the must do and which are just advertisement. Can you please guide
Just drive it off the lot and appreciate it for what it is and later on after a year then think about mods.

I don’t understand all the phone holder crew. I plug mine into the aux2 in the center console and let it flop around in there. Apple play has it covered. Before doing that I just stuck it in the slot between the drink holder where I think they want you to store the key while driving?

That slot is a phone holder? I thought it was a chapstick holder. ? I guess it works for either one.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure these out. The stubby antenna looks better, but who cares. I like the way my seats look, so no on covers. And I can't figure out what you people are doing to scratch your screens so bad. Maybe I just don't work that hard and have soft fingers.

Good advice here, but I'll add mine anyways (it's the internet, right?)

1. Start a spreadsheet to track the things that you come across on this forum, etc. This way, you've got the information if/when you decide that's something you want to buy, and you can plan your budget more easily.
2. The only "required" mods (IMO) are the screen protector, stubby antenna, and a dead pedal (I use the Hooke and it's great).
3. The rest will come as you're driving around, using your Jeep. As you think of things, or go to Jeep club meets, hit the trails, you'll see stuff that others have that you think would be cool/handy/etc.
4. Read other people's build threads (usually linked in their footers, or there's a whole subforum section). This will give you an idea of the things that other people actually put (and keep) on their Jeeps.

There are some really great Jeep-related YouTubers out there, but there's also a lot of click-chasing goobers on YouTube. I wouldn't put much stock into their "Must-Do Mods" videos unless they also have a good quantity of videos of them actually out on the trails using their Jeeps. TrailRecon, CheaperJeeperTV, etc are ones I personally would trust.
ExtremeTerrain or the other storefront video channels are REALLY awesome at putting out install videos and other helpful things like that, but keep in mind that they exist to get you to buy things.
This might be a stupid question but what is a dead pedal???
