Main Battery/ replace.

I need some assistance from here, I removed small negative cable and pulled fuse #42, jeep lights, electronics came on but didn't start, checked the voltage and it was at 11.6 volts, put the cable back on and it read 12.5 in run mode, not started. So my question is if my main battery is going bad can I just replace it with a new one, or would I have to reset the BMS/IBS. Can I just swap out main batteries? I am deleting my aux also. Did the same thing on wife's jeep and it started.

yes - replace that battery. I like the Everstart batteries found at Walmart. This is from a few months ago so the price will probably be higher.

Correct, 180 at Walmart, just looked. Better than orieilys or advanced, they want 250

I got in the jeep earlier and start/stop said battery protection mode, then start stop ready now back into protection mode. This jeep is crazy. Going to get that battery later

Pull fuse 42, disconnect the aux battery, put in the new battery, crank up and go. Your Jeep will now work just like cars have since the early 1900s. BTW, the Walmart Everstart, at 850cca, is almost as strong ar the 2 Mopar batteries together (200Cca, 700cca) plus you get a 4 year warranty.

. You might lose your settings on your radio and other things. But give it time it will reset

I bought that same one earlier this month, it's like $180 now.

and it's 800cca now as opposed to 850cca.
i picked one up today for $179.84

So I changed the battery, bought the one from Walmart 179.00. Pulled old one put new one in, Pulled fuse 42 and removed negative cable from main battery. All set no issues. Thanks everyone. Also battery now reads 12.8 volts while driving instead of 14.0.

Yes, the original SmartStopStart brand offering is very good, not known to hiccup and is a a terrific add to the JL. Yes, it can be had for $100.
