You can replace with another H6 but why would you, especially if you are deleting the Aux battery.

An H7 can be had for about the same amt. of $ and fits in the battery box.... an H7 gives you lots more cold cranking amps and more, spec wise. Why settle for 750+- when you can have 850 for the same $, etc..

Suggest you definitely go with an H7.

As for your Auto Stop Eliminator, that is a crapola offering and I always encourage other's to not go with that known to hiccup knockoff. I mention this so other's do not see/read you have this offering and take your lead so to speak. You can get a known to never hiccup, 1st to market, original, SmartStopStart unit for $99 so why settle for less..

Thanks for your response and I’ll take your advice on the H7 batt. However,I’ll have to disagree with your Auto Stop Eliminator suggestion. This is the third vehicle that I’ve installed one in and never ever had any issues.I believe it’s a fine product and not a cheap knockoff

Your past installs were apparently not on JL's and JT's.

Read internet forum posts and Amazon reviews.... and or know first hand a few local guys/gals that had intermittent issues with the knock off offering installed on the JL/JT and then you understand the real truth about the offering.

My post was not meant to be provocative, but meant just to give people a real heads up...

Why go with a known to be problematic, large footprint, crapola knockoff offering.... spend the same $ and get a proven, small footprint offering that is known to never ever hiccup...

Wise move going with an H7 Main!

So i ended up going to an Odyssey H6 after originally wanting to upgrade to the H7. The reason for me was that when i tested the h6 i was already seeing 900 CCA from the Odyssey battery. Had i gone a cheaper brand i would have gone to the H7.

That and i plan on getting a switch pros and mounting it right there. It seemed (although im unsure) that it may have complicated it with less room in that area,

Now my Jeep doesn't have the Aux as its the E-torque, so that might need to play a roll in your choice as well.

Not sure how you came up with the 900 CCA.... since....

CCA on an Odyssey H6 is 720 per Odyssey

An Odyssey H7 is 840 CCA per Odyssey

Yes, Using Load tester i was able to measure mine out and see what it was actually doing. Was surprised to see that kind of CCA seeing as like you said its listed as 760CCA

I did the aux bypass years ago. When the factory H6 went bad, I replaced with an H7 without any issues. I chose the H7 since more choices were available plus a bit more CCA.

Actually you’re the first one I heard with a negative

Did you have to modify the battery box?

Which ESS do you use ?
I have the original, but I have heard of knockoffs having issues. I wouldn't think the technology is so to where it would cause problems but ?

How did you measure the CCA's ?
Just curious
