My 24 JLRX manual stock 3.6 w/4.1 gears got 15 around town and maybe 17 hwy. They eliminated the FAD so im sure the mileage went down a little. Even stock with the 4.10's I rarely ever used 5th and 6th, only freeway over 75 mph. I have new 4.88's in hand just waiting to install.

I ask because I was thinking of getting manual, I've driven automatics in manual mode before and don't mind...but now I live in city with much stop and go traffic. I'd be fine with the sport but the 3.6 manual with 3.45 seems to be very inadequate for everyone...so was thinking of getting the automatic with the sport or manual with the willy's...
With the 3.45 gears I never saw 6th. I've since re-geared to 4.88. With the 35s it was pretty peppy. With the 37s now it's not as easy to speed up to get onto the freeway.

averaging just over 14-mpg on 87-gas.

Sounds about right for a Jeep.
No. Unless there's something else in play not mentioned, your average fuel mileage should be a bit better than 14 on a stock JL.

I've never checked to see how many mpg im getting. Let's see, if I remember correctly when I fill up write the number of gallons down subtract the mileage, multiply that number by 5 I think, and divide by 2.
I'll figure it out one of these days until then I'll keep on wheeling. 😉

2024 manual with 4.88s here. DO IT. 5s is always useable and 6th becomes an option over 65

'22 JLUR XR 3.6 auto here. MPG = who knows, who cares? I can't remember ever checking but I'm betting it ain't great. It is a box on AT tires. If I ever buy a Prius I'll keep track of the mileage on that.

I'm jealous. I'm almost as obsessed at checking my MPG than I am about checking my tire pressure. 🤣

I've been trying to see if I can live with a gas only vehicle again if I decide to move away from the 4XE so I reset the monitors and haven't charged for a week now, so far not too bad at 23mpg considering I'm lugging around that heavy battery, on 35'"S and a 2" lift. I'm sure that'll trop a tad more after a few more weeks but it seems to have stabilized there.

That's it? 22 MPGs is trash!

When I'm not going 110 through school zones, I'm usually hanging out with my westboro baptist friends protesting soldiers funerals!

Those numbers are pretty wild. Even the 420 L.O.L.

I know right, jokes aside, that was a one tank run where I was driving slow as hell everywhere. 10 under on City roads, 20 under on the highway.

My top speed that whole tank was 55 mph.

It was fun and the numbers were awesome at the end, but it was a total chore to do it.

My average on my EcoDiesel is like 23/24 MPGs, when I'm driving normally.

Although I haven't done a mile per gallon run since I got my stage one tune, and I also have 35s now, but I haven't adjusted the vehicles computer to them yet.

One of these days. 🤷‍♂️

I will say, though I definitely was able to get my tuned EcoDiesel up to 110 mph, I haven't done it since then. I think the max I'll do is like 90/95 maybe. The average day I'm doing 65 in the slow lane, using my turn signals properly like a grandpa!

2020 JL Sport S, auto with only slightly oversized tires (32"). Used Jscan to change my tire size for the fuel calculations and I'm averaging 23 to 24 mpg regularly. Funny thing is I get better mileage on secondary roads than on the highway. Our speed limit is 70 but I'm not in a hurry so I'm usually running 60 to 65. That 5 or 10mph makes a difference in MPG. Now my motorhome, on a good day, downhill with a tailwind I might get 8.8mpg.

None... but it pays well.

I too notice 70MPH being a hit on gas milage. My JL has 4.10 axle, which makes for 21.5 MPH at best out in the mountains. No flat land for me. I am use to seeing tach at 2200 RPM roughly while at 65MPH with previous cars. The JL is around 1500 RPM. It's got some low end torque most new tech V6 engines don't have without performance mods.

Don't be fooled by E-Torque. Sure it puts some power into start from stop... but it is very brief and negligible on performance. It's a band aid for Stop/Start.
