Is 22 m.p.g. good for a Wrangler JL w/manual transmission. I'm not off-roading this vehicle and drive a lot through the city. I drive it hard like I did with all my old MoPars. And I only use 1-4 gears and never 5 or 6 It is the 3.6 It's stock, because I actually bought it for MN Winters, and it's so much fun in the snow it shortens the long Winters. I suppose off-road tires would give me less mileage per gallon. Anyone else not use 4th or 5the gear. I don't like to drive it fast, because it isn't, but sometimes on the way to work I crank it up to 80 m.p.h. and let 4th gear pull it back down to the speed limit, and that doesn't hamper the m.p.g. Of course in Winter the m.p.g. drops down, because of all the idling, and playing in the snow.

80mph in 4th gear? That sounds interesting.

To answer your question though 22mph sounds right for stock. I'm getting 19-20 with a 2.5" lift on 37s.

At best, I'm getting ~21 MPG with the 3.6/auto and usually ~19 MPG with shitty winter blend gas. That's with 4.10 gears, 89 octane, a very light foot and a mostly hilly, windy rural commute with a few traffic light stops.

'23 2-door JL Sport S 3.6l e-torque automatic. Just over 2000 miles on the odometer (all around town, no highway) since June of 2023 (bought new) averaging just over 14-mpg on 87-gas. Sounds about right for a Jeep.

I don't hold it there, it just bothers me when people come flying up behind me going 80 in a 60 and they wonder what's wrong when they don't go flying past me, as soon as it hit 80 pull off the throttle and they pull away, that's the fun of a manual, I call it dumping them. That way if a highway patrol is watching they think that guy is the one speeding, and next thing you know there's no cars in front of you for a quarter mile and no cars behind you for even more and you don't have to deal with people for awhile. Highway patrols look for brake lights to come on, and with high r.p.m.'s with a manual you don't need brakes to slow down. It amazes me that working the throttle/revs up and down like that, that after about 10 miles the m.p.g. goes up. But I never use 5th or 6th. So much fun things with this Wrangler. Mostly I hang in the right lane and leave a ton of space in front of me and let the cool people go fast around me. The 3.6 with the strange rear end gear ratio likes high r.p.m.'s

Coming up on 12K miles and averaging 25mpg with the 2.0L turbo and the 8-speed auto with stock A/S Michelins. I thought running with doors and windows off would drop the mpg but it doesn't seem to have affected it too much. I'm very pleased with the mileage thus far.

None... but it pays well.
As far as I can see we have no ECO mode.

I get 21.5 MPG now with Pedal Monster City with low responce settings. No change in power but throttle is less touchy and controlled better with foot pressure.

I drive up and down mountain hills around 70 MPH 30 miles each way. At times hitting 5th climbing steep grades.

On the interstate I get 15 MPG with 35s and 4:56 gears. That is with the 3.6L and automatic. LOL

With 93 octane we were averaging around 19 mpg’s, but with 87 around 22 mpg w/ the 2.0 engine. If my Wife didn’t have such a heavy foot it would be a little better.
