I feel like mine is quite low

2024 JLUW (24 willys, so rubi wheels/tires basically & 4.10s), 3.6, auto, hardtop, 4k miles

Only mod is an LOD Signature mid-width front bumper w/ apex winch (~110 lbs over stock)

I'm getting ~16.2-16.5 city; 17-17.5 hwy; 16.5-16.8 combined. It wasn't much different before the bumper. I do have 1/2" spacers to put on the front, which may help a tiny bit, but not putting them on for mpg, just to correct ride height.

I don't care much about the mileage as it relates to the cost of fuel, but the range sucks, and another 2-3mpg would make it feel a bit less like I'm always under half a tank / getting gas

I really thought it wouldn't be quite this bad. My old XJ got like 19-20 on 30+ year old technology (I know it weighed less, but it also had a 4.0 I-6 and a 4 speed auto). My previous vehicle, F150 crew cab 5.0 w/ 10spd auto) would push 20-21 on the hwy and 18.5-18.7 combined.
I’m with you. My 23 Rubicon got significantly better gas mileage than my 24 Rubicon. I have a 24 Willys 4xe now and when using just the ICE, its struggling to crack 15 miles per gallon.

last road trip with a passenger, i got up to 24.4 mpg average. keep in mind, this was all highway. my typical average is more on par with what others have experienced. maybe 17 or 18 as i’m more in town driving than freeway.
pic is a little blurry as it was hard to take while driving, lol

I'm getting 17 l/100km (14 mpg) in the city. 39s with 4.88 gearing on the 3.6 8 speed. Highway (this is from memory), I'm getting about 17 mpg.

That's crazy. My highway mileage is barely better than my 'around town' mileage (though 'around town' for me is like 40-45mph speed limits w/ occasional lights, so pretty good as far as 'around town' goes). I'd never get anything close to 20 on the highway, let alone what you get. Most of my hwy driving is 75-80mph with some rolling hills, like the ozarks (close/similar), and I'm around 17.5 hwy on my 24 willys (rubi wheels/tires & 4.10s; though it already shifts down from 8th at the slightest hint of a hill)

None... but it pays well.

For me a Pedal Monster was the ticket. I have set it to insane low responce city... without any hit on performance. Added 2 mpg in my area... but 70mph is minimum during rush hour. In the morning shift I can reach 22mpg in the mountains. It drops to 21.5 or down to 21 depending on speeds. Shifts are more in line to my manual shifting when testing mpg. It learns so it may take a few fill ups to fully calibrate. I chose it because it is smarter than what is available now and can be set with smart phone and hidden away.

Good god man, give the gas pedal a break, I'm getting 13.3 with 37s on a JT
I don’t feel like I’m heavy on the skinny pedal, maybe it’s the tires and wheels? KMC Grenades with Nitto Ridge Grapplers?

Is 22 m.p.g. good for a Wrangler JL w/manual transmission. I'm not off-roading this vehicle and drive a lot through the city. I drive it hard like I did with all my old MoPars. And I only use 1-4 gears and never 5 or 6 It is the 3.6 It's stock, because I actually bought it for MN Winters, and it's so much fun in the snow it shortens the long Winters. I suppose off-road tires would give me less mileage per gallon. Anyone else not use 4th or 5the gear. I don't like to drive it fast, because it isn't, but sometimes on the way to work I crank it up to 80 m.p.h. and let 4th gear pull it back down to the speed limit, and that doesn't hamper the m.p.g. Of course in Winter the m.p.g. drops down, because of all the idling, and playing in the snow.
Probably standard. Lots of people report better milage but I have a hard time buying it. I have a 2 door JL Willys with a 1.5 inch lift, 33” K02’s an aluminum bumper and winch with an Automatic transmission. Stock I was 19-23(highway). Now I am 16.5 -21. This is with premium fuel. Its about 1-1.5 gallons worse with 87 octane.

I get 22-28 depending on whether I am heading up hill to Denver or down hill to the eastern plains of Colorado....and the wind direction. Mostly 22-23 for the round trip.

Around town I get 18-20, but it is 5 minutes or less to everywhere in town. Heat is almost warm and A/C is almost cool by the time I get to where I am going!

When I first got it in 2020, while it was still stock all around, we went up into the mountains from Denver Metro area, coming down the mountain, the Jeep was reading 33mpg! I-70 all downhill, no gas pedal, and a tail wind. But I was impressed it made it that high!

2025 sport 2 door manual and I get 13.5mpg in the city, and 25-28mpg during long road trips.
But I am confused about what people mean by "city driving". If youre crusing at 30-45mph for extended periods without much stops in between... then thats awfully different from what i experience. My "city driving" (in the suburbs near NYC) is 30-45mph for 30sec - 1min before stopping for red light. Rinse & repeat. Is this what you all mean?

I'm on factory 31.5in Nexen HTX2 highway tires. Meanwhile youre getting same city mpg on 37s!!! That really throws me off on trying to gauge expectations. Also im not exactly feathering my throttle but i do drive with some moderation in the city. Just not sure why its so low other than the stop and go nature of my location
