I think they are hesitant about lowering sticker prices because that will crush used car values. Tesla did that and it caused a drop in used car prices.

RAMs are totally outclassed by GM and Ford and Dodge without the hemi is…

The UAW is big mad because they aren’t reopening the Belvedere plant, stockholders are suing over inventory, dealers don’t want new stock…profits and sales are way down…they have a problem with no easy answer
Greed by the CEO, shareholders, and UAW workers created this problem. Innovation and quality improvements have been sidelined while pricing has continued to escalate without any apparent recognition of market realities. When you’re building something that is overpriced, poorly made, and increasingly obsolete you get declining sales. Stellantis is indeed behind an eight ball of their own making.

You're forgetting the big one: Vehicles that are sold immedietly come back to the dealer for quality issues.

I'm personally very excited for the new BEV charger. They'll have no choice but to increase the 8 star cases opened at once limit due to shear volume!
I edited their pricing point - IE $62K EV vs ~$35K GT , $45K Scat Pack, $30K Tesla’s, other good points.

So much this.

I've had some reliability doozies (cough Lotus cough), but my Jeep has taken the cake, eaten the cake, pooped the cake, turned that poop into fertilizer, grew new ingredients, made a new cake, and taken that cake for an unreliable low quality pile of shit.

It's like an abusive relationship though, because I haven't loved a vehicle as much as I love my Jeep.

My 2021 and 2022 JLR were both very nice in quality, fit and finish. Nothing negative to say about them. They were at least as nice as any vehicle I've owned in the last 35 years, and much better off road. I look at the JLR as a very refined SxS, and it's not at all that different in price. I'm not sure the overall quality is that bad, or people expect an off road vehicle to have a car-like interior. I think the JLR is farm equipment, and farm equipment is expensive, not because it's shiny, but because you can drive over stuff you can't in an Edsel.

Same, I love my 2023. Everything about it feels nice and good quality. My other car is a 2021 Toyota Avalon which is supposed to be their most luxurious non-Lexus car, and honestly my Wrangler has it beat in most aspects. Ride comfort and road noise are the only things the Avalon wins at. Even the backup camera is complete crap on the Toyota compared to my Jeep. And if you think our infotainment is bad, it's got nothing on Toyota, that one is awful. Pretty much everything about my JL feels more luxurious and higher quality. Pretty certain it would beat the Avalon out on the Rubicon Trail, too.

The newer ones, especially 2024s, are the ones with the insane build quality issues.

I just bought a 2024 Toyota and you're right about the camera and infotainment. Toyota sucks in that department.

Unfortunately it’s not just Stellantis. Anyone priced a Ford F150 lately? Ford is just an example, pretty much across the board.
“With it’s competition finally dead Ford jacks up prices on it’s V8 powered 2025 Mustang — the cost of Mustang GT Fastbacks , GT Fastback Premiums , and GT Convertible Premiums each jumped by $2,600, while the Dark Horses see an increase of $2,645, and Dark Horse Premiums see that giant $3,645 leap in base price for 2025.

Eco Boost Mustang prices remain the same.”

My 2024 was built right after the strike, and I have had no problems with the exception of a bad rear passenger rubber seal around the window. Bad part, not bad build.

Initial build quality is not my concern…everything on my 2020 Recon was assembled reasonably well and my Jeep is not a rattletrap. The concern the number of ongoing problems with everything from corrosion, locker sensors, coolant leaks, steering box issues, electrical glitches, and a dangerous fuel line leak. I’ve dealt with all of these issues during my four years with the JL. My Jeep is well cared for and only occasionally sees any off-road use. Candidly I have little confidence it will become less trouble prone with age and it sounds like it’s gotten worse rather than better with newer models.

Probably the most trouble free car I’ve ever owned is the 2018 Ford Edge Sport that my wife drives everyday. Other than a battery, rear shocks, and tires this thing has been solid. Just proves it’s possible to build a reliable vehicle.
