I can tell you the new BEV J70 is going to be a complete and utter piece of trash. It will be in the shop every 3000 miles like clockwork assuming you even make it home after buying it. I cannot express in words how many new 2024s I am getting in the shop recently. It is frankly absurd. How many of you folks reading this think that the upcoming JL replacement - the J70 or whatever they're going to call it - is going to have worse quality from design to build than the very JL's we complain about on this site? From laying off white collar engineering staff (and moving a lot of what remains offshore), cost cutting initiatives, to the general malaise / poor morale at Jeep corporate followed by those attitudes filtering down to production...
I have a feeling that ten years from now the JL is going to be thought of as the pinnacle of late model Jeep Wranger build quality and design. I don't have a lot of confidence in the first two model years of the JL replacement, if not longer.

Jeep execs looking in the mirror this morning
MISS YOU JOHN!
Because of you, I can neither unsee Buffalo Bill's little dance in the mirror, nor get "Goodbye Horses" out of my head.

Agreed. 4xe is a failure. Etorque is a failure. Even the aux battery is a failure. No way I would trust a full on BEV when they can't even get that right. How many of us are even asking for a full electric Wrangler? It's one of the last vehicles that should be IMO.I can tell you the new BEV J70 is going to be a complete and utter piece of trash. I don't really feel like listing every major issue currently effecting our north America operations, but the TL;DR version is Carlos is firing everyone and cutting costs in every area he can to produce shareholder profits before the ship sinks. Stellantis is playing the corporate share game now, not a product game. I'm not sure that's working anymore considering the tanking share price.
The vehicles prices are the least of our worries. People went out and spent 100k+ happily on a Wagoneer. Then it's back at the shop every month because of quality issues and THAT'S what stops people from buying our products. How many 4xe owners will never buy another jeep product because of their experience? I had yet another 4xe towed in today for a stalled while driving concern. I'm getting like 2 a week at this point. What am I supposed to do when the engineers responsible for fixing the issue are laid off?
Fuck, even STAR is being outsourced now. I'm making cases and getting responses back in almost unreadable broken English.
MISS YOU JOHN!
It might live on…as a shell of its former glory. Don’t underestimate the ability of a bad corporate owner to diminish the brand and product. I could care less if the Wrangler lives on as a BEV with a 125 mile range.Jeep has had like 8 different owners over the years, so I'm not sure how much I care if it ends up getting a 9th one or a 10th one or an 11th one.
The Wrangler will live on, regardless of what happens to the Jeep brand or the umbrella company that owns it. Wrangler is too much of a golden egg for anyone to just abandon.
You're forgetting the big one: Vehicles that are sold immedietly come back to the dealer for quality issues.I think they are hesitant about lowering sticker prices because that will crush used car values. Tesla did that and it caused a drop in used car prices.
RAMs are totally outclassed by GM and Ford and Dodge without the hemi is…
The UAW is big mad because they aren’t reopening the Belvedere plant, stockholders are suing over inventory, dealers don’t want new stock…profits and sales are way down…they have a problem with no easy answer
I'm personally very excited for the new BEV charger. They'll have no choice but to increase the 8 star cases opened at once limit due to shear volume! The Street yesterday “Dodge CEO’s delusion is alienating dealers and loyal customers “ I couldn’t find a link
Can personally verify the “alienated customer” part
