The question is - how bad does it have to get before they admit their prices are too high?

I suppose it's actually not a bad thing if they continue to just be stubborn about it and end up selling the Jeep brand instead of coming to the obvious realization that they created this situation with their price hikes.

This could be a win-win for us.

Let me add that this is likely why details on the 2025 model have not yet been released. Somewhere deep in the bowels of Stellantis, they are rejiggering prices and option packages in a stealth effort to make Jeeps more “affordable.” I do not expect a drop in sticker prices, but I do expect an emphasis on “value.”

I was driving by my local dealership the other day and right in front was a 2024 2 door Sport S, a rarity around here lately. I stopped to check it out and it had the same options as my Sport S. I realize there is a new dash interior with the huge radio but the sticker price was about $8000 more than my 2020 Sport S. I am not an expert in this area but it can’t be hard to understand if sales and profit are down, you might want to reconsider your pricing structure. It is not rocket science.

Time for the tried and true Stellantis special. Let’s raise prices another $10k and give them another $8k in rebates! Suckers won’t know what hit them!

The mfpics of Stella/Jeep aren't getting it. Shuffling staff and jiggering numbers on balance sheets isn't going to fix their pricing and product issues. Make the best product at the right price and the rest follows. Can't do that by cutting all the staff.

How many of you folks reading this think that the upcoming JL replacement - the J70 or whatever they're going to call it - is going to have worse quality from design to build than the very JL's we complain about on this site? From laying off white collar engineering staff (and moving a lot of what remains offshore), cost cutting initiatives, to the general malaise / poor morale at Jeep corporate followed by those attitudes filtering down to production...

I have a feeling that ten years from now the JL is going to be thought of as the pinnacle of late model Jeep Wranger build quality and design. I don't have a lot of confidence in the first two model years of the JL replacement, if not longer.

Maybe in Europe. They're not an American brand anymore, they've offshored a lot of their production, so they very likely won't get a U.S. bailout. Their ownership was offshored also.

Absolutely, without a doubt. The further we get from the pre-FCA days, the worse things are going to get...assuming the Jeep brand survives under Stellantis.

Jeep and Dodge are just money fountains for Stellantis. They will continue to build the cheapest product possible and sell it for the highest price possible until the fountain dries up...then they'll move on. It's just a question of where the "let's pack it up" point is for them.
