Maybe Jeep will get sold and become an American company again. Seems like this push for turbos or electric is deveating from their core. With as many odd electrical issues as I have had with both my JLURs, there is no way I would buy an electric or hybrid Jeep.
Don’t want to burst your expectations….but the vast majority of engines used by American makes are turbo 4 cylinder. Even the base engine in the Chevy Silverado is a 2.7 l turbo. Same goes for Ford with its Ecoboost lineup. With CAFE standards tightening, you can expect this trend to continue. Is not just Stellantis.

For the most part my 24 is good. It's little things like the Trail Rated badges being crooked or rubber trim around the door that was just slapped on with almost zero pride in the job.
That reminds me of a funny observation I made during my pre-delivery inspection of my new Jeep. The only thing I noticed that was out of sorts was the UAW sticker on the tailgate: It was observably crooked. I remember thinking at the time that I hoped it wasn't an omen of things to come.

Just about four years later, I can say with some relief that it wasn't.

Happy with my Jeep, it's my first and I love it, but just wish people could take pride in what they do but corporate overlords I know can make that difficult.
Don't blame the corporate overlords. The unionized assembly line people just got a huge raise and should be taking more pride in their work...If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right...

correct. They already got their money so they care even less. Need to maximize nap time.

Property taxes are bonkers in these types of places.
We moved from CT to SC outside of Charleston and we pay 60% of the property taxes we used to pay on our house in CT even though we paid 2.5x for our house in SC vs what we sold for in CT. And this is coming from a small CT previously-conservative town that had some of the lowest taxes in the state.
Car taxes on the Jeep went from $1,500/yr to about $300 and includes registration.

There’s nothing we got out of the town or CT that we don’t have here. It’s actually even better as the schools and services are fantastic.
Same boat, in 2019 I fled California for Idaho. The property tax I paid on a 1583 sq foot house in the suburbs that I sold for $600k, was $8k per year. The vehicle tax on a 2019 Raptor was $1400. Now I live in a 2600sq ft house with a 2000 sq ft garage that is valued at 1.2 million and last year I paid $3800 in property tax. Vehicle tax on my 2021 Raptor is $220 for two years. Homeowner and vehicle insurance is half…..with the same company. I didn’t know tax is charged on cell phone plans, that dropped $8 per month. State income tax went from 12.8% to 6%. I never see needles in the street or homeless tents. Crime is almost nonexistent, maybe because it is a constitutional carry state, whatever the reason, it works. My favorite is public parks. In California restrooms were filthy and decorated with graffiti. In Idaho, park crews work 7 days per week, the restrooms have porcelain instead of stainless steel. They are even air conditioned and heated. Amazing what a change in color can accomplish.

The reason Jeeps --and Rams, and Dodges-- are sitting unsold is because consumers see poor value in them.

Stellantis prices are totally out of touch with reality. Add to that the crummy dealers, the ongoing quality issues that go unresolved, the notoriously poor fuel economy across the board; it is no surprise STLA can't sell very much.

The recent rounds of layoffs and early buyouts have to have depleted whatever institutional knowledge was left inside Auburn Hills.

STLA has been adrift for awhile; the CEO is just clueless, especially when it comes to the N.A. market.

I sort of dread the unveiling of the J70 in a few years. Hope Jeep proves me wrong!

PS - Just as a reminder: years ago, Fiat and Peugeot DID NOT MAKE IT IN N.A. MARKET and had to leave with their tail between their legs.

They are now the two main partners calling the shots at STLA...

I think it will be awesome. The base engine will be some sort of mild hybrid slapped onto the low output inline 6, its just going to start at $70,000 for a base sport.:headbang:

As of this moment, there does appear one that meets your needs ~344 miles away from you in Cedarburg, WI. Might be worth checking out, as it is $6K down from MSRP. Might be able to get more out of them. I have noticed the SOT models are not being marked down as much...

I messaged them today on it so we shall see. It's a little over optioned for what we were after with the aux switches but if the price is right...

The stuff in the video is backed up with recent independent economic data and it is just not Stellantis.

The main reason that car sales are down is that interest rates went from 2%-3% up to 7%-8%; ~80% of new vehicles are financed (https://www.statista.com/statistics/453000/share-of-new-vehicles-with-financing-usa/)

Combine that with a ~5% per year new vehicle price increase (surely Jeep is higher than that) and sales are going to drop. Period.

It isn't that "the economy" is collapsing.

Watch, next month the Fed is going to drop interest rates (a bit) and we will see some modest rebounds in sales volumes. It ain't going to return to pandemic levels of demand though.

Well I talked with my wife and she was like....that's not the blue I like best. So I started digging and found the ocean blue and she's like yeah that's what I like! So I found one in north Carolina with super low miles and we were close to booking plane tickets for this weekend but decided to go see the colors in person to be sure as there were two dealerships across the street from each other where we could see a hydro and a used ocean. Well...she didn't like either after closer review. The hydro is too light and the ocean is too purple. Guess we are going to be waiting until they come out with a true blue again. I think the closest would be if they brought back deep water blue pearl from 2009. It looks similar to the ocean just without all the purple.

She asked how much it'd be to just repaint and I told her way too much to be worth it and do it right. Told her it'd basically mean tearing the whole jeep down and putting it all back together. She was like....but you can do that right? Haha!
