Hang on to your '18 and use the "smart decision not to trade up" as an excuse to buy some upgrades. You can get the new grill painlessly for like $500-600, so you could LOOK like you got the new one...then also add some of those accessories you've been thinking about...cause hey, you just saved $25-30k by not trading up, right?
Agreed, it isnt just the 30k, but the interest you pay on it or the loss of the 30k as an investment. Heck you could buy a 400 dollar upgrade every month with the interest saved and still be better off. This is where Stelantis is missing the big picture. They really need a clear upgrade path for those of us in this situation if they want new jeep sales to get better.

Yeah and also fix the fact that as each model year passes, they continue to be more poorly built. That's another factor I didn't cover - aside from the first-year issues that should be long taken care of by now, he's got a much better built JL than any '24 he could buy.

Door hinge shims, potted locker sensors, and other running changes aren’t insignificant. There have been plenty of problems with 2021-23 JLs. I think it just depends on when your particular Jeep got built, and by which crew at the plant.

My JL is a pre-COVID 2019. They had a few problems here and there, but eventually most of them get sorted, kinda like Ford’s 6 liter diesels: they were problematic as built, but once longer head studs were installed and the turbos were replaced they were great performers for a couple hundred thousand miles.

If I was going to drop another $30,000 into a jeep it would go into the one I already have. I’d start with a hemi-swap
