Got it done finally. All tested out and works great. My tape kinda didn’t hold as it should have when I injected the back on one of them, but it fit and works. I’ll just take it as I definitely got the air out.

Did you use a drill press? How did you make sure you didn't drill too far in?

What are folks doing when this sensor fails and they are out of warranty?

OK so you are saying that IF the sensor fails and the lockers no longer work due to that failure, one could plus the Z “jumper” in and get the factory lockers to work. Even with the oil soaked failed sensor?
Yes, it bypasses the sensor, so you would no longer have a dash indication of the locker position but it would work normally.

Some use the Z locker from Z automotive. I haven’t used it but will if mine fails.

I installed one for the rear axle prior to my Rubicon trip as I hadn't potted my sensors and didn't want any issues while on the trail. The Z Locker worked like a charm and my lockers seemed to lock/unlock quicker. I'm going to add a front Z Locker and call it good so I don't have to do the potting. With my luck, I'd drill too far.

OK well that sounds pretty good. I have a new Rubi ordered. I work from home so I doubt I would put enough miles on it to fail before the warranty was up.

Im thinking, put a few hundred or a thousand miles on it, change the diff oil, pot the sensors, upgrade my diff covers and call it good. Down the line if a sensor ever fails post warranty Ill just get the Z jumpers and carry on.

Unless the sensors are avail by then.

If you pot the sensors it is highly unlikely that they will fail.

Are you sure? I swore @Zauto said everything would work as normal. I didn't remember them saying the dash indicators would not work.

My dealership stated it’s covered under the powertrain warranty, which is longer than the bumper-bumper. You might check into that.

Dash indication of locked and unlock will work. The "in-transit" function will not work.

You select lockers off, the locker will indicate off, but may not be physically unlocked in the diff.

The harness will work to select the lockers, but will not give you a true indication of the locker plate position. You will have to do that by feel while the Jeep is moving.

If the dash is indicating an incorrect condition, either way, what can be done about it? While using the ZAuto harness.
