Hi. I’m chasing excessive wander while driving. My steering has lots of slop at center sitting still and driving. I’ve heard many say it helps straight line driving to bump the caster so I did this quick fix below. unfortunately I can’t tell any difference and I think it’s that the center play is the main issue. It allows so much wander especially on any Road with even slight crown. Dealer says it’s normal of course. Been a To two.

I swapped the lower LCA’s: stock 68250242AB, for the 1/4” longer from 4XE 68322798AA today. My steering wheel is now a little off to the left. I can adjust it via the drag link but wanted to see if this is normal. Numerous threads about this swap and haven’t seen any mention adjusting the steering wheel. I wouldn’t think the slightly longer LCA would impact the steering wheel alignment but,,,,, Thanks.

There is an adjustable collar on the tie rod. I installed geometry correction brackets on mine. If I remember correctly, the clamp has two 15mm nuts and the torque spec is 35 ft lbs. Also need a pipe wrench to turn the adjuster.

The single addition of the Mopar LCA’s should not affect your steering wheel position, unless I’m already 90% of my way to midnight ?. I installed the same LCA’s with my spacer lift and did not need to adjust.

The collar is on the drag link , don’t mess with the tie rod.

I installed a spacer lift, with longer LCAs, never affected the alignment, of the steering wheel?

That’s what I thought too. Odd so I’m going to loosen and re-torque tomorrow on a level garage to ensure everything seated correctly.

Loosened & re-torqued with no change … as I expected. Will center as post #2 said. I had to try. Also unlike many others, I can tell no difference in drivability with the increased caster. Being a 2dr I realize it’s more sensitive to road crown, etc. Time to get deeper into this.
