I was getting annoyed by my JLUR wandering while driving down straight roads. It wasn't bad, but required constant tiny corrections of the steering wheel to keep it in line. I read on this forum that the Rubicon comes with the same length lower control arms as the base wranglers, even though it's lifted about 1.5" over those models, resulting in a reduced caster angle. I followed the suggestions and ordered the Mopar lift kit lower control arms (only $30 each) which are about .25" longer than the factory LCAs and bring the caster angel of the Rubi back to the same spec as the Sport and Sahara. They only took about 45 minutes to install, and I have to say they made a big difference. The Rubicon now rides like a normal car. It tracks straight, has a better on center feel, and no longer requires constant movement of the steering wheel.
For the life of me I can't understand why Jeep didn't use these LCAs from the factory. With so much complaining about the steering and wandering, this seems like a simple and cheap fix, with parts that Jeep is already manufacturing.
Just wanted to share my experience as I know there are many others looking to tighten up their steering feel and this to me seems like a no-brainier first (and probably final) step.

Did you have it aligned after the install? Just curious what the readings were.

Thank you for sharing this. I just got my Rubicon a week ago, still have the mopar LCAs waiting to install. Good to hear.
I just drove 700 miles yesterday and while it tracks straight and feels really solid at 75mph, it does require very attentive steering. I’ll be swapping the arms next weekend anyway. Have a 2-door.

No, I did not have it aligned. I don’t see the need to. Maybe I will if I notice any unusual tire wear but driving wise it feels perfect.
Do you have the part numbers handy?

Should be no need for a re-alignment.

Me has a set of those longer LCA's coming my way as well :)

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Best $70 you can spend if you have a Rubicon or a Rubicon suspension swap on your JL

I don't, but be happy you don't live overseas when Jeep is your thing :whew:
I paid $109, and that is for the shipping only... and still have to pay for customs too :lipssealed:
