Ask the Dealer to get you a loaner or rental telling them you believe it's a safety concern - if they decline, I'd send the GM an email stating your concern (put some liability on them) then open a case with Jeep Cares.
OP: you mentioned Front End in your post but I assume it's the Rear based on the input. My '23 had gear whine on decel. that was incorrect mesh. It took 2 replacement axles to get it right (yep, 1st replacement also had "zero" mesh). The dealer would not let me drive it due to safety concern...
Forgot to add that, yes did the famous LCAās: stock 68250242AB, to longer from 4XE 68322798AA. My issue is the center slop of the steering wheel so itās hard to tell if the increased caster did any good though Iām sure it did.
@JeepCares my ā23 2dr Rubicon has excessive steering Wander since day 1. 100miles, dealer said itās normal. This is my 5th Wrangler 2dr and none were this bad. I went to another dealer last month approx 8K miles, āitās normalā. No TSB covers this ongoing issue and itās just dangerous. I...
Loosened & re-torqued with no change ā¦ as I expected. Will center as post #2 said. I had to try. Also unlike many others, I can tell no difference in drivability with the increased caster. Being a 2dr I realize itās more sensitive to road crown, etc. Time to get deeper into this.
Hi. Iām chasing excessive wander while driving. My steering has lots of slop at center sitting still and driving. Iāve heard many say it helps straight line driving to bump the caster so I did this quick fix below. unfortunately I canāt tell any difference and I think itās that the center...
The PDF is challenging in some areas for me if anyone can help - looking at the 2dr Rubicon, on p. 8 it shows the Hinge Gate Reinf. is XDB at $675 for both Rubi and Rubi-X but notes included "N/C" with AGB or ATY or EC1 but I don't find either of those three. I assume that's the 35" option but...
Updated first post just now. Get it checked is all I can say and open a case with jeep cares etc. Normal is not acceptable if itās anything like mine was. Twice.
1. Any 2Dr specific info like can you get the XR 35" pkg on a Willy or Rubi? I've read the PDF and read most of this thread but don't see it mentioned. 2. And any news on when pricing will be available? That's when I'll decide what the future garage looks like...............
Wish pricing would come out soon, and wonder if a 2dr Rubicon X will be available?
I'm in the midst of a buy-back or compensation on my 4month old 2k mile '23 Rubi 2dr due to 'issues' and would go for a '24 IF the cost isn't too much more. sigh.....wait a few days I suppose and hope to see...
An alignment check can verify the caster just not adjust it. There are YouTube videos on how to check it yourself - the axle point to measure and you can use an iPhone or other device to verify the angle.
Yes the new/longer ones are 68322798AA (and yes they do show for the 4XE online but....) and the Stock ones on mine are 68250242AB. All good, I'll enjoy swapping them :)
My '23 Rubi is in the shop getting a new rear diff / axle assembly (little to no fluid from factory - full of metal) so I asked them to quote installing these LCA"s while there to save me the time. I have the new LCA's in the rear boot area. Reply " uh these are for the hybrid not your model...
