It seems redundant to have remote start on the app since I have it on the fob
It is not redundant as the app lets you start the vehicle from anywhere. For me, who travels a decent amount, and lives somewhere that is cold for 4-5 months out of the year, the app lets me start my Jeep as soon as I walk off the plane. It’s nice to get into a warm vehicle that’s been sitting outside for days.

Key fob works really well, but doesn’t allow the distance that the app does.

Hopefully @JeepCares sees this full thread. While it’s awesome we finally figured out the cause, it still seems odd that it’s happening.

I hear ya! .... Curious though, are you going to be willing to pay $ ... are you going to pay $ for this when the freebe use of it ends?

I would bring this up with your dealer, DM JeepCares with the issue and your VIN (they seem to want that), and what you have all discovered as it is reproducible.

Since this is a reproducible issue they should be made aware of it so that it can be looked into. I had mentioned previously my girlfriends car (Chevy Cruze) does the same thing. I had noticed other times it was instant and she does have remote start. Lately she has not been using the remote start and it has worked flawlessly. I don't think this is a Uconnect issue as GM does not use that. I wonder if the remote starts are shared between the manufacturers?

No. Too expensive and I don't use it, now. I can definitely see it's usefulness, though, as @mergedown stated. It's great in his scenario.

Do the folks who have issues with the key fob being initially recognized have NFC enabled on their phones?
Also, do you keep the fob in tehsame pocket as your phone?

My keyless entry works swimmingly on my current BMW... unless the fob is next to my phone (whihc has NFC turned on). Then I have issues like in the video.

Good question. I know for me, during my testing a couple weeks ago, I left my phone in the house. So, its not NFC interference for me.

Hi all,
I am experiencing the same lag after using remote start from FOB.
I had my jeep for few days, and it was working perfectly and unlocking the doors instantaneously.
Only this morning I noticed the delay for the first time after using remote start.
So doest it seem to reset after few hours or what? as I still feel the lag few hours later so far.

Feedback appreciated

I don't know the exact time, but it'll revert to working flawlessly again. I only use remote start when I absolutely need to until a fix for the lag is found.

Thanks for your feedback.
Is jeep aware of the issue already and working on an update? Or you suggest I should report it officially directly to jeep customer service. ?
Thanks

I have no idea if they know. I suggest you report it. I haven't read where anyone had made an official report to Jeep.

Agreed. Not sure how long, either, but seems like @mergedown said, like, 8 hours, or so for the reset.

I made @JeepCares aware via PM, but they pointed me in the direction of my dealer. Not that my dealer isn't a good one, but this is not something they're going to tackle as strongly as I would. I chose to troubleshoot myself with the help of this community. Together, we found the problem that a dealer would not, probably. Sadly, we can't fix it, but hopefully they (Jeep) will be made aware by JeepCares...on our behalf.

I reported the issue with FCA Canada, and also had them add this thread to the report, so they are aware of the problem.
They said it will be reviewed.
They were not aware of it, and didn't have any info about it.
Thanks for your help in spreading the word.

And, Jeep, if you’re reading this, feel free to reach out. I’m well versed in the issue and can help with understanding.
