@JEEP392 Needs to weigh in here. He just had his rig outfitted by AEV and it’s a beaut.
I’m running their Dualsport 2.5” lift on the JLUR and it’s been phenomenal.
That said, I agree with their equipment being overpriced. I looked at their bumper/fuel caddy setup but couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger.
I just got this kit installed last week. It rides great. Only issue I have is rubbing on the control arms when making a full tilt turn. note that I have the Borah Wheels for the JL and running 37 Ridge Grapplers@JEEP392 Needs to weigh in here. He just had his rig outfitted by AEV and it’s a beaut.

Have you looked into insurance issues there? Will your insurance cover you in Mexico? I wanna go to Baja California too. Would be really nice. But worried about safety and insurance issues.Ideally down the west coast of Mexico.
Of course, it goes without saying that you should learn the basics first. Especially if you don't have the right equipment.Just because a DIY guy did it, doesn't mean it gets done right. I can think of many things I've missed or done wrong over the 50+ years I've turned wrenches on vehicles for me and my family. They were lessons learned the hard way. I suspect there are more DIY guy errors than professional errors.
I assume so since the OP asked the question. Are people really paying to get bumpers and winches installed? Thats nuts. If youll be jeeping youll be fixing. It is worth learning the basics.
The Mexican government requires you to get Mexican insurance if you're driving outside of the tourist zones. You'll also need to get a big "hey, look! I'm a tourist" decal to put on the windshield. Driving the West Coast of Mexico through Mazatlan, Puerto Viarta and Acapulco you will pass plenty of Pemex stations for fuel.Have you looked into insurance issues there? Except, of course, that the factory doesn't produce an XR diesel.I would buy a factory extreme recon JLUR and order AEV's front and rear bumper and call it done.
I agree AEV is high quality but nothing beats OEM and you save a lot compare to a AEV built one
