And further... run the engine while using.
Yes absolutely run the power wires directly to the battery and always have the engine running while using the compressor. i understood the OP to be asking where to attach an ignition trigger wire and a wire for the on off switch illumination.

If you have the Aux buttons then the wire bundle for them (right behind/under the glove box) has a 12v ignition switched source wire, in addition to the 4 aux switched wires, provided for exactly this kinda thing. That's what I used when I did mine.

I suggest you hard wire direct to battery. This is what I did. Max draw is almost 70amps per the ARB specs. Aux 1 and 2 are 40amp rated.
I thought he was just looking for switched power to trip a relay to connect to direct power from the battery to the compressor?

Oh maybe so… my apologies then. I guess it is least a PSA for those that are considering powering via an Aux Switch.

You are getting some good info here, but it is misapplied to your question. I have this installation. By what you are asking, you have already run your compressor power cable appropriately to a high amp source (perhaps hard wried to the battery). Now, you want to run the skinny lines to your switch. The switch on this requires very low amperage and merely signals the compressor motors to turn on or off (again, powered by high amperage). Your red wire is to supply power to the switch and the blue is to light it like your dash lights.

Since this is a very low amp circuit, you can find any red wire under your seat and connect the two reds. Just be sure you use a high quality connection and don't go wild with cutting wires.

In automobile wiring, red is always ignition switched positive. Yellow is direct to the battery positive. You really don't need the blue to be connected. This will allow you to power the switch light as you would your dash lighting. Too much trouble to be of value, if you ask me. By connecting the red this way, you will have to have the ignition on so go ahead and start the engine as that helps the battery stay charged.

Great information. Got the ignition and illumination wires connected and only activate when ignition is activated
Thanks for your input

Which brings me to the next question:
Which under-seat mount?
(I already have a 2 tire hose system that I can easily make into a 4 tire system, if I feel the need. )

I used the mount ARB sells. And I tied the switch into the wiring harness under the passenger seat. The ARB switch is tied into the courtesy light circuit.
