Mobil 1 Synthetic at Walmart is around 30 bucks for 5 qts. Filter is just under 10. 20 minutes of your time. Peace of mind it was done right with the right oil and correct amount=priceless. So you are looking at under 50 bucks. The JL, at least the 3.6, is the easiest vehicle I've changed oil in and many would agree. Just save the receipts and write down the mileage/date. Car fax even let's you enter your maintenance in, so a future buyer can see the maintenance history.
You can also enter your maintenance at Mopar.com, if you have created an owner account there.

Yes, I do that too, but the car fax one people can see if you are selling your ride and they pull a report. Not that I'm ever selling!

During COVID my Jeep Wave oil changes were going to expire. Since the dealerships were all closed I called Jeep to see what they could do. They extended my oil changes given the situation. I asked them at that time if they could send me an email confirming this along with any paperwork that I would need to get the old changed. They told me that it was all in the system and that all I had to do was to go to any dealership and they would be able to find them by the VIN number. I dont drive my jeep much so I just finally hit the mileage where I should get the oil changed. I went into the dealership and was told that the oil changes they gave me had now expired. Since I was not given any paperwork or told about any expiration I did not know that it was going to expire. If I did then I would have gone and get the oil changed before they expired. Jeep never sent me an email or any communication indicating they were going to expire. I called Jeep Cares (jeep does not care) and walked them through this and asked that they replace the oil changes since I had no idea they were going to expire. They were NOT willing to do anything and the only thing they suggested was that I buy more oil changes. I wanted to let everyone know that Jeep does not care. Very disappointed that they did not take ownership of the fact that they never send me any paperwork or told me that there was an expiration.

Gando.
I had something similar happen to me.

When I bought my 2018 Fiat 124 Spider, I bought from my servicing dealer a group of five pre-paid oil services for $250 from Mopar. The going rate for a synthetic oil change was $100, so $50/oil change seemed like money well spent.

Then between COVID, and the fact the Spider doesn’t get driven much through winter, I got three oil changes done in three years. When I go for my fourth PRE-PAID oil change, the dealer tells me that the two remaining oil changes which, remember, I HAD PAID FOR, have “expired.”

When I try to argue the Service Advisor tells me to call Fiat to straighten it out with them. Otherwise, “...it will be $125 today...”

I turn around and walk out.

It seems like a very small thing, but I am just sick and tired of paying through the nose for these vehicles, only to get into to a fight every time I walk in the dealership, have to force them to honor the warranty, and then get nickel-and-dimed to death for every little thing. Even for things I already paid for!

Now Stellantis keeps sending me solicitations to get their Visa card, buy an extended warranty, etc. Yeah, right...

I have been buying Chryslers, Dodges and Jeeps for 35 years. But I see absolutely nothing rolling out of their assembly lines these days that I want to buy, let alone put up with their grabby little hands and insufferable dealers.

It's been more than 3 years since the retail world was on lock down. You're not being reasonable, especially since it seems you have a 2018 that was bought in 2018 judging from post history.

You waited way too long to get your oil changed.

Why dont you think is reasonable? They provided me oil changes and never indicated that 1) that they would expire and 2) that there was no documentation associated with them 3) that I was given no notification. Why would an oil change voucher expire? I get that a warranty expires after so many miles driven or time gone by but why would an oil exchange expire? My issue is that they never told me that it would expire when they gave it to me. If they did then I would have managed it to that date.

When I bought my '23 I was given three free Jeep Wave oil changes/tire rotations. When I bought the extended warranty they gave me three additional oil changes. At the time, though, they made it clear that I should use the Jeep Wave oil changes first because they are available for a limited time. The other three have no expiration.

Also, if you have the Jeep Wave app on your phone it lists the number of Jeep Wave oil changes/tire rotations you have and when they expire. I have two remaining and they expire 11/09/25...

The program is only valid for so long. They gave you a gimme since that crap put a halt on a lot of things. I think when I purchased my 20 JT the program was for four changes/ rotations for two years. FCA is nowhere near perfect and i will throw them under the bus when it is deserved. but I have to agree with them on this one. You waited too long. It is on you, not them. Waiting around for probably close to three years after the fact, what would you expect?

As a Wrangler owner you learned a lesson thought, Jeep does not care one iota about the folks who purchase their vehicles. They (typically) will read every agreement to the exact letter of the law and limit their financial exposure. Good Faith or Goodwill gestures are very FEW AND very FAR BETWEEN.

Sorry you apparently weren't paying attention, but it's widely known that the three free Jeep Wave oil changes are for a limited time.
Me? I could care less about Jeep Wave's "free" oil changes! (Those hacks aren't getting anywhere near my '22) ?

I got one of the famous "6 quart fills" and drive 3-4K on it before noticing and draining out the extra quart. I typically change my own oil since I was 16 almost 30 years ago and feel a bit dumb that I let a 6qt fill sit in my jeep for so long. In the front of my mind I know it didn't do any damage to my engine, but in the back of my mind I'm like . I may use my 3rd Jeep Wave oil change to vet another dealership closer to my house.

I haven't let a dealer touch any of my vehicles outside of warranty claims since the early 90s.

Their free oil changes are risky given the people who actually do the work. They just aren't worth it. I'd trust a quickie oil change shop before I'd trust the monkeys at a Stellantis dealership.

As a side note, CarFax pulls the maintenance info from Mopar. So you really only need to enter it there and it will show up on the CarFax.

Regardless of the situation, this is the perfect opportunity for you to learn how to do it yourself. And even if you fuck it up, you're still going to probably do a better job than a dealership.
