I’ve got 3 free changes…if I could give them to the OP I would! They’re not worth anything to me, I’ll never use them.

Also: Welcome to the modern world. Everything comes with terms, conditions, and limitations.

I haven't let a dealer touch any of my vehicles outside of warranty claims since the early 90s.

Their free oil changes are risky given the people who actually do the work. They just aren't worth it. I'd trust a quickie oil change shop before I'd trust the monkeys at a Stellantis dealership.
Agreed, I let all my Jeep Wave oil changes expire too and mine is a diesel. Supposedly our oil changes are so expensive you can't afford them to begin with. ;)

@gando, at a minimum you should have your oil changed once per year. It says it in the owners manual, I never hit the OLM 0% before a year is up. That is why you get 3 changes in 3 years. If you do develop engine problems during the warranty period, they could possibly disclaim it because you didn't maintain your vehicle according to the schedule.

Like Rhinebeck01 said, make sure to get everything in writing from customer service. However, I'm not sure I'm going to use my last Jeep Wave oil change after the fiasco with my last one. They broke my hood safety latch, and gave me an extra quart (which I didn't realize until the oil darkened up a bit after 2K mi). Sigh.
I have changed oil + filter on all my cars for the past 30+ yrs every 3-4 months. Never anything over 5 months ever

I replace mine every 4 months. No more than 5 months. Diesel owner as well ?

While the rest of the world was n lock down, either having fun everyday or trembling in fear behind closed doors and double masks, I went to work everyday.

Covid is no excuse for not maintaining your vehicle. Even with next to no miles, change once a year, not by the OLM.

Using the dealer for oil changes is not the best idea. ASE mechanics aren’t changing the oil and giving your vehicle a thorough once over, they get paid too much to do oil changes. The guy who just got promoted from washing cars or got tired of flipping burgers is doing it. Find a good independent shop to do your oil changes if you can’t or don't want to.

I never used a single one of those free oil changes. If I could give you mine, I would. I’ve not been back to the dealer since I bought it 3 years ago, and wont go back unless it’s for a major warranty issue.

despite everything you wrote, I just cant get past the fact that you are sophisticated enough to jump onto a Jeep forum, but somehow haven't had an oil change in multiple years. kinda scary.

There seems to be some confusion on when I have changed the oil. I changed it about a year ago. I was going to change it again but I was told that the voucher they gave me had expired.

The real tragedy in all of this is that these dealers are happy to piss off a customer over a $35 oil change voucher.

Just look at it as a blessing. Now you can learn to change your own oil. You will not over fill, leave the filter, or filler cap loose. Or, forget to put oil in the engine, or damage something on your Jeep.
Oh, get a Fumoto valve, and oil changes will be an easy no brainer.
Just create a paper trail and have proof of the changes or the dealership can refuse to cover any warranty issues resulting from oil changes.
Jeep stands behind their product…wayyyyyy behind their product lol ?

During COVID my Jeep Wave oil changes were going to expire. Since the dealerships were all closed I called Jeep to see what they could do. They extended my oil changes given the situation. I asked them at that time if they could send me an email confirming this along with any paperwork that I would need to get the old changed. They told me that it was all in the system and that all I had to do was to go to any dealership and they would be able to find them by the VIN number. I dont drive my jeep much so I just finally hit the mileage where I should get the oil changed. I went into the dealership and was told that the oil changes they gave me had now expired. Since I was not given any paperwork or told about any expiration I did not know that it was going to expire. If I did then I would have gone and get the oil changed before they expired. Jeep never sent me an email or any communication indicating they were going to expire. I called Jeep Cares (jeep does not care) and walked them through this and asked that they replace the oil changes since I had no idea they were going to expire. They were NOT willing to do anything and the only thing they suggested was that I buy more oil changes. I wanted to let everyone know that Jeep does not care. Very disappointed that they did not take ownership of the fact that they never send me any paperwork or told me that there was an expiration.

Gando.

I hope this isn't the first time you've been walked on by society brother. But if it is, welcome to life. It is going to be a rough one for you if this is how you handle it.

@gando

Not wanting to be confrontational but ..... I believe you were dealt with properly by "Jeep Cares" and you should take "ownership" in regard to this issue.

Your error ..... You failed to be sure you received written confirmation of what you were told initially. You should have asked to speak to a supervisor if the rep you spoke to initially did not want to give you written/email confirmation of the --> exception she/he made for you.

My guess is, you did not ask for the original reps name either.. You have no trail... no paperwork or otherwise..

You'll learn to... in the future, to cover all bases. so to speak. Especially now a days, when a Customer Service person tells you something, to ask for written confirmation... IF, they do not oblige, then do not take what they told you to the bank... Ask to speak to a Supervisor if that is what it takes..

For the record, my comment here, again... is not meant to be confrontational / provocative.

Hopefully your thread, my reply and other replies to your post will b helpful to other say young guys and gals here that don't know how to .....
I totally agree, you can't just take what they tell you and not have them putting it in writing or something. I had a similar situation with Dish Netowrk where a customer service person told me that they would guarantee me a certain price. Later when they changed my programming and and charged me more than what was originally offered, I cancelled and they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee b/c they said they didn't offer me that price. So I challenged them to go back and listen to the recorded call, they did and agree that the clark gave me the wrong price. However, instead of honoring that price, they offered me a lower tiered package or the option to cancel at no charge - I said SEE YA! So most of the time when you call these companies and you hear that automated person say, "this call may be recorded for quality purposes," use that against them and challenge to listen to it, but also make sure you have your ducks in a row.

They don't give a damn about anyone, my engine blew up catastrophically at 26,000 miles, the new engine is backorder, and they really don't want to do anything about it. I just wait endlessly.
