Still doesn’t address FCA bullshit about fixing the problem. One could argue it’s false advertising if I need it run Premium grade to cover up the problem.
In fact, the “knock” is causing engine damage
Dealership band aid solution.
Have had this should chronically for 4 years. Dealer won’t acknowledge it. Could never solve it. Traded for a JLUD and the sound has disappeared.
sww a Red Sahara JL about 4 weeks ago Accelerated by me on the street and heard the god awful sound from the sidewalk.
my guess is it’s specific to...
Luckily, my re paint was approved. Took 8 months…from the dealership playing dumb to finally an admission it’s a problem as the number of complaints piled up over the winter. The third party body shop did a fantastic job.
Unfortunately, no guarantees it won’t return. I’ve since traded that...
Just create a paper trail and have proof of the changes or the dealership can refuse to cover any warranty issues resulting from oil changes.
Jeep stands behind their product…wayyyyyy behind their product lol 😂
I will find out more at the dealership tomorrow. The had to replace the HPFP as per the recall. Wonder if it had begun to fail??? I’m also curious if it’s actually soot or Krown undercoating as the engine components appeared clean.
I think too it might need a real good long drive. Been short...
Noticeably different and the edge goes to the diesel. Very smooth acceleration
Someone did mention there was subtle nose dive in the diesel and my experience matched that observation.
there is a difference in ride dynamics and not just engine, but I’m thinking without any real proof suspension.
Update: June 2
Test drobe the 2020 JLUD with 37,000km. First impressions on start up was it sounded like a diesel, but quieter tha. I expected. It has very smooth acceleration. Suspension seemed softer. The torque was definitely present on the parkway. Effortless overtaking vehicles. Could...
Great to hear. I will primarily be using it on the highway particularly thru the winter and better mileage makes sense That’s sometimes 6 months of the year here in Canada. I’m not an “off roader” but travelling during northern Ontario winters can be treacherous especially backroads etc.
I have...
My first Jeep was a 2017 JKU. Put 93,000 kms on it. ZERO issues. Great experience. The 2020 JLU had a lot of features I’m interested in prompting the move into it. IMO they tried to push them out too fast affecting quality. No vehicle should have to spend as much time in service bays and body...
My 2020 JLU has been riddled with issues the past 10 months including the notorious paint blistering on the aluminum panels, quality issues including the broken vanity mirror, broken glove box handle, undiagnosed engine flutter on acceleration. And cracked trim along the hard top window, almost...
Being from Northern Ontario you get used to plugging in. Odd the temp dropped like that
I think this JLUD is outside the parameters of the recall. I will make sure at the dealership it hasn’t been recalled.
My 3.6 has had several issues both mechanically broken plastic components and the...
This is JL corrosion/paint blistering on the aluminum doors, hood and tailgate. Just had my 2020 repainted. It’s a disgrace considering it’s a $60,000. If you can’t quality control painting aluminum…this is also a problem for the Cherokees too
Body shops are loving it.
Be sure to check your hood and tailgate. They’re also aluminum. I just got my 2020 back. All 4 doorsand hood needed to be done. 8 hinges replaced. No corrosion on the tailgate.
Passenger side fell out when my son opened it. Thought I was the only one. I think I have a lemon with the paint blisters on all doors and hood. The engine/throttle knock on acceleration, the visor falling out, the ball joint knocking in 4wd on short radius turns. Hands down the worst vehicle I...
