Just noticed this today. JLUR april 2019 build. I have not been offroading yet and have not felt any rub while driving. Appeared to have rubbed in one place and almost melted in the other spot. Any idea what it could be or anyone else with similar concerns? Thanks

Put a piece of masking tape on it to see if it truly rubbing, it may be a pre-existing defect on the fender liner.

Only due to driving into probably one of the windiest storms ever that broke it loose enough to rub, oh well ...

I have this exact issue with my 2020 Rubicon, did you ever figure out how to secure that piece? Drivers side right? The Passanger side has a plastic ā€œboltā€ to hold it here. Thanks in advance for the help.

Mine did something similar while driving on the highway to Moab back in February. Except mine was on the passenger side. I used a couple zip ties to secure it in place. Canā€™t remember if I poked holes in the liner or if they were already there.

I bought aftermarket liners but havenā€™t felt the need to install them yet. Been sitting in the garage since April because I havenā€™t had any further issue with the stock ones.

I've ripped through 4 front fender liners since May. Two were replaced at the dealer, still have the other two on until my AAL fender liners arrive. I would get them replaced again, but the dealer had to have me come in three times for the first set so I'm not dealing with that again..

ront drivers side fender liner blown in at highway speed
Local Dealer Service dept first declined repair under warranty, the General Manager stepped up and the repair will done on them!!
My concerns are:
It appears from this thread it will happen again!!
Don't trust service dept, I shouldn't have to fight for a repair that is obviously a manufacturing issue
I haven't been able to find an after market solution that would fit a JL Diesel

any help would appreciated

thank you

I've noticed similar issues with my '21 diesel. The fender liners don't seem to have been molded properly or something and don't seem to follow the contours they should. I ended up using a couple zip ties on each front liner to keep them away from the tires.

I had the same issue, Jeep replaced two of them before I was tired of dealing with it and bought the American Adventure Lab Quick Release inner fenders.

I installed them, they are very well made and pretty easy to install. I did my with the wheels on and the jeep on the ground, probably even easier if you take the tire off.

You do have to remove the fenders, so buy a few extra fender retainer clips since they are so cheap and love to break.

The best part is they pop right off so when running wires or anything you need to access behind there is pretty easy.

The Launch Edition Gladiators had fender liners that broke apart like this. The replacement liners worked fine. Hope this gets resolved similarly.
