Follow up on the issue, I finally got a chance to take my rubicon in today, the dealership declined the warranty work because I cut the fender liner to temporarily fix the problem, and if I took it in still rubbing, they would cover it, I argued that it’s a stock wrangler and I was on a highway driving normally, I heard the rubbing and I had to cut it to prevent further damage, what if it broke the tire and cause an accident? The rep still said it’s because I tempered the fender liner, they can’t tell if it’s because I cut it that caused the rubbing issue, smh, called Jeep Customer Service and explained the situation, the rep says it should be covered under warranty, they will reach out to the dealership, let’s see what happens, my dealership also said if they decline the warranty, there would be a $298 diagnostic fee, $870 for total work. Btw my dealership is Hudson Jeep on NJ-440 in Jersey City.
A $298 diagnostic for taking 1 min. to look at the liner to see that it has a defect? You don't even need to lift the Jeep to see it. That dealer is a scam. It took my dealer 1 hr to swap them out and plastic rivet the new one in place. No charge.

Mine was fixed by dealer after they initially rejected.
We had a not happy conversation...they agreed to replace.
The Gladiators have a TSB for this exact problem.
How is it not the same across the board?

My wrangler just ate my driver inner fender on my way back from moab. I'm glad I heard about this a while ago so when I heard the rubbing pulling off the highway to fill up it was the first thing I checked. Guess it's time for some aftermarket liners...

Mine is also toast after a trip to Colorado. Second one out of three trips out there. Lost the first one on I-70 in Kansas. This last one happened on I-40 in Texas.

Same thing with my 2021 rubicon. I was thinking it was from off-roading, took it to the dealer today, the service guy told me “taking this off-road is abusing, and abuse is not covered by the warranty”. he also told me, since I had a winch, that is weight on the front end causing the issue even more…. I am pretty sure this was from wind, trying to explain that to the service guy was pretty useless. After I got home, I found this thread…. This is quite a scam!!! So, I’m going to talk to corporate, and will call another dealer, but, if they don’t cover it, I don’t want to replace with another junky liner…. Any suggestions on what to put on it ?

Honestly, just use zip ties because a new liner will blow out just the same-mine did and luckily the second time I had a zip tie handy and pulled over at a rest stop to install. Or pay for an aftermarket liner as some suggest.

I went with these and just didnt hook up the lights. They fit fine, are aluminum, cheap and protect the right places.

Thanks, these look nice. I’m not ready yet to let Jeep/Chrysler off the hook…. But, soon the warranty will run out and I will go with this. We’re they easy to install?
Yes, they were pretty easy to install. Took a minute to figure out where everything attaches but after that it was quick. Id say it took a few hours but i took my time and did some undercoating at the same time around the fenders.
The best thing is that you dont have to worry about them ever blowing into the tires again.

@JeepCares, my 2021 wrangler 4xe recently encountered the same problem after a road trip from Vegas to LA. Dealership checked and said its non-warrantable. The estimate fix cost is $720. Its a bit strange that this happened right after the recall remedy was done. Please advise, thanks!

Update~~~~~~~

I visited Chapman CDJR to address the damaged fender liner on my vehicle, but the dealership determined that the damage wasn't covered under warranty. Since Jeep doesn't control dealership decisions, they couldn't intervene directly. However, my case manager, Mike, advised me to try a different dealership, as he believed the issue should be covered. Following his suggestion, I went to Jim Marsh CDJR in Las Vegas, and they repaired it under warranty without any problems. After some back and forth, the issue was finally resolved, and I'm grateful for the assistance.
Shout out to Jim Marsh CDJR and thanks @JeepCares !
