Any idea what "new" means? Did they bring back an old model / make changes to the existing model / a new model / something else?
Yeah, I’d like to know what “changes” have been made. There’s zero info out there.

I have no details whatsoever. My owner's section on jeep.com stated "Incomplete but repair parts are available". Rather than try to do this over the phone, I physically went to the dealer. My service advisor called Parts to determine availabilty of the replacement pump, and they had received four. He assigned a specific pump to my recall notice and scheduled me in. He wanted to do it this Monday but my wife/daughters have a girl's trip to Disneyland next week and I wanted her back to shuttle me back/forth.

My dealer can't be the only one getting them. Has anyone else checked with their dealer(s)?

My nightmare scenario is when I bring it in they say "Parts just said we had four HPFPs - they never said they were the NEW ones". All kinding aside, the conversation was clearly regarding the recall - he used the term Z96 on the call.

It's time to short Hot Shots stock. :)

Sheesh. Having read the above PDF in-full, I’m definitely waiting.

I trust my CDJR diesel wrench; however, now I understand ‘why’ I was advised to wait (absent failure). I’d like the mechanic to successfully complete several of these installations before digging into my Jeep.

My $.02, anyway.

Good luck fellow diesel runners ?

The instructions for a "non-contaminated engine" seem pretty simple.
Looks like it is just the pump, 2 high pressure fuel lines, and a couple of o-rings.
The only part that needs special attention is making sure the new pump is timed to the same position as the old pump.

"Contaminated engines" are much more involved.

I'm still gonna wait until my dealer has done a few first...

I'm going to wait as well. I want the techs to do several before getting to mine.

Am I reading it correctly 1.7 hrs for just HPFP vs 6.6 hrs for contaminated fuel?

I spoke to my mechanic today and I’m scheduled to take it in 10/24. A little nervous bc I’ve had no problems but it’ll be nice I move past this cloud that’s been hanging over the 3.0 since the recall was announced. ??‍♂

Well I refuse to take it to the local dealer, so you other Texas dudes let me know who to trust. I have vacation days to spare and love my rig just as it is. I don’t want someone incompetent messing it up, and that describes our service dept. I do know a good Ford diesel mechanic, but I’ve been told other dealerships are a no-go.

Mine is scheduled for next week but I may wait to see how some others turn out first. I haven’t had any problems yet.

Any recommended dealer in SoCal with a good diesel mechanic? I'm first on the list but they are wait for the fuel rail.
