Fellow San Diego owner here; will be disappointed if this recommendation came from SD-CDJR. I trust these guys and know their diesel tech. Nice ride, btw 👍
Sheesh. Having read the above PDF in-full, I’m definitely waiting.
I trust my CDJR diesel wrench; however, now I understand ‘why’ I was advised to wait (absent failure). I’d like the mechanic to successfully complete several of these installations before digging into my Jeep.
My $.02, anyway...
March ‘21 build date here; Mopar, Wave, and Jeep App show, collectively, ‘parts unavailable.’
In no rush to complete recall; I’ll let others go first. And second.
Interesting timing; dealer brought-up recall today during drop-in. Advised, by dealer, to wait on repair (unless necessary). Will...
You installed a new o-ring, correct? I’d recheck the o-ring placement on the threaded cap; confirm it’s seated in the lower ‘groove.’ Torque is 17, I believe.
San Diego here. After 50-plus days in dealer shop, MBUSA bought back my 2020 GLE. MB outsourced the process to an independent, third-party entity; we met on specified date at dealership, I surrendered vehicle, and agent handed me a check for full purchase price plus taxes paid, fees, the works...
Your batteries need to be checked and/or replaced.
Water in diesel is a separate issue.
Video provided by Rick shows how easy it is to drain the fuel filter housing of any accumulated water.
San Diego here. Average 23-24 mpg around town on 35’s w/ heavy wheels, steel bumps, winch, etc. Highway numbers similar to above; recent 650-mile trip averaged 28-29mpg (in strong winds, too). Agree w/ everything else, above.
Coronado, San Diego County here. ‘21 JLURD registration renewal arrived, today.
No requirement for smog; anticipated as much based on your post. Couple of questions, if you don’t mind (1) did you purchase your diesel JL in California? (2) was the smog requirement included with your renewal...
A broken weld on DPF bracket and its related ‘rattle’ sounds like a utensil dropped into a blender; meaning it’s NOT a subtle noise induced by bumps, pot holes, etc. Further, rattle is heard mainly @ idle on a fully-warmed motor. Under acceleration, no noise. Odd, I know. My experience, anyways.
DPF bracket weld broke on my ‘21 JLURD; same loud rattle others noted. And thanks to forum members here, I was able to quickly confirm weld break and repair it. I didn’t bother with local dealers (despite warranty coverage); went straight to an auto shop/welder I trust. 5-minutes to fix. Bracket...
If an auto manufacturer is offering to buy back your ride, take the deal. Mercedes bought back my ‘20 GLE after 30-plus days in shop (SoCal); refunded in-full, no hassle, no attorneys. Stellantis is a different animal, of course; if they’ve offered a reasonable (let alone full) buy back take the...
This is correct. SiriusXM Guardian offers a "Remote Package"
$12.99 Month (edit to add: $10.99/mos if paid in-full or $129.99/yr; discounted pricing link sent to me upon log-in to Guardian account)
Following copied from their website:
Stay connected to your vehicle from virtually anywhere with...
SiriusXM Guardian is wayyyy too expensive; the App interface is a lousy and lazy design offering only minimal vehicle data; and the glacial slowness of it -
yeah, NO.
Don made this for my diesel a couple months back; clean, simple reminder @ fill-up to grab the diesel green.
I’ll be ordering the 3.0 decal, too; easy installation 👍
Brad/TrailRecon should have recorded the overheating; safe assumption he had video equipment in his rig, right? The dude has time, on camera, to promo his relabeled coffee but not time to record something as serious, as substantive as overheating of his JLURD under load? His channel is...
