Clamp the nut in a vice, tighten the ball with this. As tight as you can get it; 150 pounds of force applied to the end of this unit will put 450 ft/lbs of torque on the ball.

I have one of those too. Comes in handy for a lot of things.

what the defense lawyer will say in the multi-million dollar lawsuit when the ball comes off and the trailer goes sailing into a minivan full of kids. Lol
That’s why you have safety chains 😄

why not just buy a ball and mount already installed?

They sell the wrenches alongside the hitch balls at Walmart. Still need a big crescent wrench for the top and a pipe on the wrench to get to 450 lbs.

This is the best way to get it done right. if you don't have a vice? Use two adjustables with the receiver in the hitch.

I've been using Harbor Freight 18 inch pipe wrenches for years on those nuts because they absolutely do not slip off. $8.99 and you're done.

You can find 1 7/8 box end wrenches at other places. I think I got mine either at Harbor Freight or on Amazon. They even make one that is box end on both ends with 2 different sizes. Pipe wrenches also work, especially if you have to hold the ball on top and turn the nut. Or a vice, that's that I normally used.
