Borrowing money for a new vehicle is cheaper than for used so if you are financing you might want to take that into consideration.
A new custom vehicle might cost you the same as used second choice.

To the Titles question: What is the first thing that one see's every morning when you walk out to your Wrangler, the color. I for one, would never purchase a vehicle, if I didn't like the color.

I compromised enough on cars in my life before I got my Jeep. To me, this was my forever vehicle. I will eventually get different daily drivers, but the Jeep will be with me until it falls apart or I do. So I wasn't going to compromise with getting exactly what I wanted. To most people it's just another mode of transportation (on road or off). To me it was the realization of a 30 year dream. The physical symbol that I had finally dug myself out of poverty in spite of the odds. So color, like every other choice, was of utmost importance.

So my question is what does this Jeep mean to you? If you answer that question, you'll answer your posted one as well.

.....or, ya know... the less philosophical side of the question, why buy something you don't want to turn around and look at every time you park?

Here in FL, color can be very important. Black color vehicles qualify as "suicide by oven."

I wanted Gobi because of the desert dust off road and agricultural fallout in the air in and around Kern Co. I thought with Gobi I could go a year without washing it and nobody would even notice. 🤓

Definitely option 2 as long as your favorite color is Chief Blue or Mojito. If not, go with option 1. :)

After owning a Jeep in a color that I was just ok with (anvil), and owning a Jeep in my favorite color (blue), I definitely would not make the mistake of buying a vehicle in a color I wasn't in love with again.

That said, I WAS ok with the color anvil. It looked nice and stood out a little in 2015. Those non-metallic greys are way too common for me now. But I never got the joy out of washing/polishing it that I get out of seeing the sparkly metallic ocean blue reveal itself during a wash!

And I will never ever EVER buy a white car ever again. Gross.

Only if the manufacturer financing incentive is better than what a bank can do. Otherwise banks consider "new car" rates to include the last 3-5 model years. The car doesn't have to be brand new.

Also on financing- belong to a credit union ? If not, check a couple out. The lowest rate I found was through one, the other I belong to gives a 1/4% under the current loan rate on refinancing ( time limited) and another 1/4% off for auto payments. 1/4% lower than their rate + 1/4% refi credit +1/4% auto payment added up nicely. Cheapskate approved.

Depends.
I used to work part time at my credit union and our new car rates were a car (under 12 months or 3 k miles) if I remember correctly.
They were 2% cheaper than used.
And the length of the loan could be longer making the monthly payment less.(not better less)🙃

Color is scientifically proven to increase performance in all situations. Not having good color coordination will severely impact your vehicles mechanical components in a detrimental manner.

For example, if you have an Orange Jeep, but have a Yellow and Red Offroad Jack; it just won't work! No matter how hard you try, you won't even get that Jeep 1" off the ground. They're just incompatible to each other.

All that to say, Color matters if you care enough to have a favorite. Buy the Jeep you want and never look back! 😎

If your favorite color is available in the used market it’s only a matter of time before it shows up with the options you want. So, I’d say pass for now.

Not sure if you have tried a national search. While it might seem daunting, if you find what you are looking for you could turn the purchase into a fun road trip. You might want to take a look @Ratbert s spreed sheet as it can show you dealers who will give discounts on new Jeeps and likely appropriately price used vehicles.

If you do end up looking at new, remember Jeep rotates colors every few years, so it can be crap shoot as to when the color you want will come up again. If they have it now, ordering exactly what you want is a great option.

If it is a 2.0, XR option is overrated IMO. You don’t need 4.56 gears to move 37s. If it is a 3.6, then maybe XR is ok. I would go favorite color since if you upgrade the suspension, it will be better than the XR lift. I was going to settle for a different color just because of steel bumpers and I am glad I stick with my favorite color.

Some people don't care about color at all. I'm not one of those people.

My first two Jeeps were not the color I wanted. The first one, a 1995, was used, and the second one, a 2006, was the last one on the lot. I had the 2006 painted because I couldn't stand the ugly (to me) khaki anymore.

I pretty much ordered my 2024 4xe because of the Tuscadero, though I had been considering going electric for awhile now.

I'd say get the color you like, because you're going to have to see it everyday and it's nice to have a little pick me up every time you get in.
